I’ve found jerking it too much makes me complacent, like I’ll feel like I don’t need to talk to that girl because she’s not really my type, or try schedule that date that will probably be boring and go nowhere. It seems to make me more pessimistic and keeps me down. I’ve also tried completely abstaining and while I enjoy the energy, it’s not very sustainable and when I’ve done it long term I’ve kinda gone the other extreme of not being interested in sex. I’ve found that going no porn and trying to be conscious of how often I’m doing it is the best middle ground

It can become a habit that takes time away from other things you can be doing, time and energy.

Feeling tired from it when you’re at work or with friends

Doing it when you feel sad as a coping mechanism vs healthier things like the gym, writing or long walks.

It’s a thing you can do but not the best thing you can do
