Legally speaking they cannot enforce that only women are allowed to use these spaces.

According to the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), men are equally permitted to park there (although there might be some people/women that might get pissed if they see you parking your car there as a man.

"slightly larger"- when women often drive smaller cars, that really implies they can't park properly.

"closer to the establishment"- I thought women were equal to men in every way? There might be an argument for this on safety grounds, but equally, if someone wanted to know which were the women's cars, they'd know which ones.

I don't know what excuses they're feeding the public, but the real reason is because women can't park.

China has this. Women's parking spaces in China are outlined in pink and have the female stick figure logo like on the bathrooms. In China they openly acknowledge that it's because women can't park. China doesn't mess around like the West, where everyone in power is afraid of backlash.

Germany takes pride in Hitler's autobahn. It's got narrow lanes, no speed limits, and people will still ride your bumper on it, because they take driving seriously. But nothing can overcome the woman parking problem, and they literally had scientific studies done to show that the most efficient solution would be to just give them bigger spaces, and tell people whatever they needed to hear.

I'd call it a win for us, for them to be defeated by an inequality so great it couldn't be covered up.

Babies R Us (when they existed) had special parking spots for expecting mothers (well before the "birthing persons" crap started), and I was all for this. But having a women's only designated parking space insinuates they are disabled.

There are some businesses that already do this, specifically for pregnant women. I've seen it where I live in SWVA at Walmart and some of the other larger chain stores.

Same here in korea.

Here in korea, there are also seats on the subway reserved for pregnant women. These I don't in theory have an issue with. But what you actually end up with is defacto extra seating for all women, not just pregnant women.

Pregnant women are supposed to have some hang tag on their bags to sit in those seats.

But you see tons of women who are obviously not pregnant (no hang tag, too old, too young, etc) just immediately go for these seats without a second thought.

Men never sit there. Non pregnant women always do.

In some places in California there are parking spaces next to the handicap for pregnant women and some for families with small children. Usually at the mall, shopping centers and baby stores.

The parking slots for women are in 99% only for women with kids. It is for safety and that they have it easier get the things into the car while handelings the kiddies as well.

It is one of the few i can understand the reason behind it, for me it isnt discriminating.

Generally the spots are a) in parts of the parking lot that are better lit and thus safer at night; b) for women who are pregnant. There’s no law, it’s simply posted. You could park there, but why would you willingly make someone’s life more difficult.

It’s so women don’t have to walk far through parking lots and garages at night where they could be assaulted. Probably illegal (in the US), but I’d recommend looking elsewhere for grievances.
