Lesbians divorce at higher rates than gays, but I hope you do understand that "72% of same-sex divorces in 2019 coming from lesbian couples" doesn't not translate to "72% of lesbian marriages end in a divorce". So it isn't 300%, but 250%. Considering that there are slightly more lesbian marriages than gay marriage, the ratio to 100.000 would be a bit lower as well.

There are different stats and studies on gay marriages, but, yeah, the ones I've seen show higher divorce rate for lesbians. The difference depends on the study and the sample though. One common reasons lesbians state themselves is the speed they get married. They hurry into marriage.

I do not agree with your conclusion though. Using the same stats one could claim that men prefer to tolerate and ignore marital problems, while women prefer to do the opposite of it. Women tend to have higher neuroticism, so they have harder times just ignoring things or "letting it go". When we have two men or two women in a couple gender difference will be even more pronounced. Tolerating or ignoring the problem isn't a superior choice though, especially if you aren't the one the most affected by it.

On a side note, I've seen the stats showing that gay relationships and marriages have a large portion of open relationships and higher cheating incidence. So...men are more okay with their partner sleeping around and/or they prefer to close their eyes on cheating. Infidelity is one of the most common divorce reasons, so it would make sense that by ignoring it you'd see less divorces overall. It isn't a better choice though, it's just a personal choice.

Just because someone isn't divorced doesn't mean their marriage isn't ruined. This is based on the erroneous belief that divorce is inherently a bad thing. It's not. It's a solution to a problem, and not enlisting that solution does not mean the problem isn't present.

Every female-female relationship I've witnessed (friendship or romantic), I have seen 10x more empathy in than any relationship involving a man. I think it's just way easier for a woman to let her partner go if she knows her partner is unhappy, because women are way less interested in forcing their partner to suffer over ego in a relationship she doesn't enjoy.

Versus, men are more likely to just ignore problems or force the relationship to stay together and let their partner suffer.

That's just personal opinion, though. There are probably other reasons.

I think you're making terrifyingly broad assumptions based off this statistic.

You're reading into the contextual factors of this number to fit your own preconceived biases in order to justify some sort of grudge against women as the ultimate enemy when it comes to romance and marriage. Your assumption that initiating divorce is terrible implies this, when divorce is not so simple. Many people initiate divorce to get out of toxic and abusive situations, and women are more likely to initiate as well because they are more likely to gain custody and more likely to gain from a divorce and more likely to gain less from being married. The stats show that they shoulder the majority of the burden of domestic labor and child care, so marriage tends to be more beneficial for men and less so for women, unless if the men put in the work instead of using it to have someone take care of them. Making money for the family is no longer an excuse either since most families need both parents to be working to make ends meet, so both should be contributing to the domestic labor and child care instead of defaulting to old gender roles that simply don't work for most people in this economic climate. For most women, being in a bad marriage is worse than being single unless if they have no job or career.

People are more nuanced than that and you should probably do some more digging and maybe talk to lesbians about their thoughts and relationship/marital experiences before making such bold divisive claims about an entire group of people, especially if you're using stats about a sexual orientation group to apply to a larger group that encompasses other sexual orientations. I've been friends with many lesbians over the years and seen many of them fall into patterns of jumping into relationships and moving in too quickly because it tends to be difficult for queer women to find each other and initiate something. As soon as something is initiated and they find commonalities and mutual attraction, they tend to emotionally dump on each other fast and get attached quickly which is not something seen in the cultural and social behavior of gay men and many heterosexual relationships. I don't know why this happens to often to lesbians but I will not be creating any absolute assumptions about the causes to justify any sort of belief I have to make myself feel better somehow. I just know that relationships that happen super fast without much time to truly get to know one another or live with each other long enough tend to end in break ups/divorce compared to ones where they pace themselves and are more selective and less in the heat of the moment. Finances can also of course play a factor as women tend to earn less than men based off career differences, so if you're in a relationship where both parties are financially struggling, it's more likely to end in a break up/divorce than one where at least one partner is making good money to live comfortably and not have to argue about bills, etc. Again, I don't know if these truly are factors or the most impactful factors, but I keep an open mind and try to be empathetic to their situations.

If you make such negative and broad assumptions of a large group of people based off a number that only tells you part of the story, you are doing great harm to women by spreading these fear and hate mongering messages to men. Be more openminded, especially if you're not even that group you're speaking of. You don't know what it's like to be a woman or a lesbian, you're less likely to be accurate about your perspective on this phenomenon because you're seeing it from a perspective that serves you and refuse to accept other perspectives or information that may bring you closer to the truth.

Isn’t it also proven that gay men are known for being the least monogamous and known to turn a blind eye to cheating? Staying in a relationship doesn’t necessarily mean you’re happy, and for some people divorce is better than cheating or an open relationship.
