We literally call ourselves LEFT WING male advocates. I understand that we are different from typical right wing male advocates (in a good way) but the fact we have to call ourselves left wing to defend ourselves from accusations of being incels or misogynistic is extremely concerning. As if somehow we need to justify helping men out.

As a left wing man, I say men’s or women’s or any other issues regarding a group of people should not be assumed to be political. I know many feminist women who are republicans and many male advocates who are left wing. Nobody is bad for being right wing and nobody is good for being left wing. You’re only bad or good based on your actions.

I hate that people assume the worst because we want to help our fellow men out. Sure, just because some idiots like Andrew Tate get into the movement (and I don’t think he even cares about men tbh) doesn’t mean it’s automatically a right wing movement meant to enslave women.

To conclude, I think that the fact we have to make ourselves known that we’re not extremists or sexists from the start (by our sub name) is sad because I never assume a woman who calls herself a feminist is extreme (or even left wing) unless she does and says things that prove otherwise.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding and it’s not why this sub is named as such. What do you think?
