Virginity is about perceived innocence, it’s a cultural life milestone definition more than a physiological one - I know some men here will bring up “omg the hymen” but this already varies on individual biology; some hymens are already naturally more open than others, it can be stretched doing other sports or activities, etc. Ultimately it means very little in terms of being a virgin.

The men who like inexperience and virginity like it because it’s often attached to youth and innocence and lack of other dicks being inside of her. That’s it.

Because many women will say they don’t need sex to have a happy life and/or live. If they ever get in that mood, they can simply pull out a toy to satisfy it thus there’s no need for a man.

Well, not knowing something and then learning about it is an interesting time. I just think that "virginity" should be reversed, so rather than noting a "loss of innocence" as if it's a bad thing, note a "gain of information" as a good thing. And since sex is a big deal for a social sex species, learning about this stage of our life is a good thing to celebrate. That's how I saw losing mine: "Yay, incels and creep who want to take advantage of me will leave me alone now! Yay, I know about my body and about male bodies!"

Sex is generally defineable as "an interaction between at least two people who are both aware the interaction is happening and involves the direct stimulation of at least one of their genitals". So "Virginity" would be a person who has not experienced that yet.

Traditional concept is pretty clear. Losing virginity simply means first sex and can be inferred by hymen, body count or social image. Its an objectively provable fact if every information about ones life is given. Liberal societies are cucked so hard that they came up with "social construct" to cope. Every conservative society cares about chastity.

Virginity is just the vocabulary word you use to describe something that hasn't been touched/used/experienced yet.

A virgin person is a person who hasn't had sex yet.

A virgin field is a field that hasn't been plowed yet.

Virgin snow is snow that hasn't been walked through yet.

We're all virgins in different ways technically - ie, I am a "virgin" to bungee jumping or eating head cheese.

Obviously, there are a lot of weeds to get into if you really want to - some people think "oral is moral" in that it doesn't count as losing virginity, while others swing the other way and you lose your virginity if you even wear a tampon.

Most people generally mean "hasn't experienced sex yet" tho.

I would say it’s a spectrum of inexperience vs experience but the traditional piv straight intercourse being some be all end all is a bit outdated. Like the poop hole loop hole kids are definitely not virgins. I feel like oral sex counts too. Same sex sex counts too.

So I would say not having had a sexual experience involving open genitalia as a pretty safe catch all

A virgin is just what we refer to a person who's never had sex as. It's exists in the same sense good and evil exists.

They don't exist, but only as far as we give it meaning. But just because something doesn't really exist, that doesn't mean that it isn't real to us.

Virginity is a term used to describe someone who has not had sex. The term describes an intangible concept so you can't exactly prove that it physically exists. Kind of like Freedom or Honor are concepts that don't physically exist in the world.

Culturally, being a virgin (as a woman) is typically associated with notions of purity, innocence and integrity. When you lose your status as a virgin those associated assumed qualities also usually go away with it.

A virgin is a woman who has not been penetrated vaginally by a man.
It has been of importance for men throughout history because it would logically ensure the children their woman births is their own. Also virginity is a signifier of a lowered risk that his woman will cheat.

Also men tend to prefer virgins over promiscuous mates for the same reason people prefer non addicts over (former) alcoholics or drug abusers. Even if they beat their sinful habits and improved their ways there's always the risk of a relapse.

I think both genders innately view male and female promiscuity a bit differently. Female sexual purity has always been more valued than male, for a lot of reasons. But I think that the strength of the innate biological instincts--in both genders--is often overstated, and there is definitely cultural mediation at play.

Needing a virgin in 2025, when the man is not and is also not religious, seems like the base instincts getting overamplified and maybe even a bit deranged.

Not really the way I personally think but it's basically "de-flowered", somewhere along the spectrum of hymen being broken and penetration with a penis. I don't know why it's vague tbh.

Personally I would define it as before someone has had sexual intercourse because the real obsession with virginity is about not getting accidently pregnant .

Basically you need to understand the risks with sexual intercourse historically. If a woman had sex and got pregnant she would be in deep shit if there wasn't an intention by the man to follow through and build a life.

The responsibility would fall on the parents or necessity to abort which would be sacrilege.

The more promiscuous a woman was the harder it would be to guarantee paternity of the child , and we have data now , but back then it probably wasn't a mystery, that the more promiscuous women were the more promiscuous they tend to become.

There's a lot of debate as to why and if there's science around pair bonding and oxytocin etc. Personally I don't think that's real but I've never tried to find anything legitimate about it. It is really clear though that divorce rates rise dramatically if the bride isn't a virgin or has more than a few partners.

So if you're not trying to populate a society and have strong family bonds and values then virginity or low body count in women doesn't really matter.

Personally I don't know if people would be having more kids if our present economic situation in the west was strong enough to support it. If resources were abundant people would be less hesitant I would assume but this specific topic is really counter intuitive since you'd assume sexual liberation would make population boom.

Since society was built on these rather traditional beliefs and strategies, a significant part of the population wants to run back to that safety, which will never come back again due to technological and scientific advances.
