I'd guess it's the other way around. Training about sexual harassment and raising awareness about sexual crimes have helped to bring more cases of female molesters to the public. Instead of just hiding it people have started going to the police and demanding the law to protect children.

Basically, there's always been a certain percent of female pedos, but they're starting to get exposed due to better sex ed and people being more aware about the problem.

As you said, the vast majority of primary elementary teachers are female today, so we would expect, given a statistically unbiased split, that same level of sexual abuse instances to involve a female perpetrator. I have no statistics in front of me to review but I think most(? I hope? Please, someone tell me I’m not wrong about this…) instances of CSA schoolteacher cases involve middle and high school-level students (kids 11-17), where the instructor gender split is less pronounced. I would be interested to see whether the case gender ratio correlates more or less with the instructor gender ratio, though I’m not sure what conclusions if any I would draw from there.

I strongly suspect that our (the public’s) awareness of these CSA cases has more to do with the modern news cycle and increased awareness in recent decades of the harm that these crimes cause notwithstanding of whether the student involved felt that they ‘consented.’ (Arguably, that awareness might be able to be placed at least somewhat at the feet of feminism.)

I am deeply skeptical that CSA cases involving teacher perpetrators are hugely on the rise, though I’m willing to review evidence that supports that claim.

Maybe this wasn't previously reported because there was a stigma around men not wanting to admit that they got SAd by a woman?

So I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say feminism has nothing to do with it. And it’s certainly not feminists celebrating this behavior - it’s men saying gross shit like “I wish I had a teacher like that when I was in school.”

What explosion do you talk about, what is the percentage of teacher who actually do that? Also academia has nothing to do with feminism, it is a collection of people with research interest and some of them holds extremely conservative beliefs.

So therefore all the training on sexual harassment is basically men as the predators and women as victims and never does it mention that women can be perpetrators.

If you look at western culture pre-feminism, do you really think that they saw women of even being capable of raping men? Do you think that men back then were taken seriously if they spoke up about their sexual trauma?

Men were not recognized legally as victims of rape until only a few decades ago. It was only after the emergence of feminism that the people and the law started taking male victims seriously at all.

Uh, no. I used to be ugly in high school but got hot afterwards. I have no interest in high schoolers since they're literal kids. Being unwanted in high school doesn't turn a person into a predator. Raping and grooming also isn't very feminist.

These type of stories are highly controversial and get a lot of clicks and engagement from somebody's gross grandpa talking about how he wishes his teacher was like that and everybody else in the comments arguing with him.

I don't think there's so much an explosion in the cases as editors knowing what types of stories are going to keep the lights on.

Pretty sure female teacher-male student pedophillia was barely considered a crime when I was coming up. It’s still not taken seriously enough, imo.

The only reason it’s even considered now is we’ve started recognising the harm it causes - mainly thanks to feminist and feminist-adjacent research.

Previous to that, the response to a teacher molesting a boy was “Nice”.

I had a female staff member at my school be very inappropriate to me and a couple of other boys. We never said anything because it wasn’t “wrong”.

I think it’s relevant to say here that I’ve literally never seen a Reddit thread about a female teacher raping a male student that didn’t include some “ooh lucky guy” comments— EXCEPT for on feminist threads. Feminist subreddits 1000% have their problems, but that shit Does. Not. Fly. on there.

Are there women who use feminism or “girl power” to justify abusing the men in their lives? Absolutely, but abusers use whatever they can to justify abuse. I’ve never ever seen a feminist environment that wouldn’t shut that down immediately, and I can’t say the same thing for mainstream threads.

there is no 'explosion', people just didn't talk about older female young guy relationships, as they were taken as a success for the male and not sexual missconduct; that being said i'd say porn has been worse for our culture (in that aspect) than feminism, each day younger guys are being exposed to sex and even more to those abnormal relationships (mom/mom's friend-stepson, teacher-student and the likes)
