Most people pair within similar age, income, education, and social circles (assortative mating). If constant “trading up” were typical, long term relationships would be rare and age gaps would be much larger on average.

It commits base rate and outlier errors Using celebrities (Timati, DiCaprio) as evidence is invalid because they are outliers with unusual access to partners. Outlier behaviour cannot be used to infer population-level patterns. A logical argument needs typical cases, not exceptional ones.
It treats “value” as single-variable and fixed The post defines men’s value mainly as status/money and women’s value mainly as youth/looks. That’s a simplification. In real partner choice, multiple traits matter: personality, reliability, emotional stability, fertility intentions, compatibility, shared values, kindness, conflict skills, health, etc. Changing the model from 1 variable to many variables changes the conclusion.
The “women can’t preserve value” premise is false Even if physical appearance mattered a lot (it does matter somewhat), it’s not the only input. Women can and do increase desirability via fitness, style, social skills, career stability, communication, and choosing partners who value more than youth. So the “can’t do anything” claim is logically overstated.
The “damaged goods past 25–27” claim contradicts observable reality If most men devalued women sharply after 27, you’d expect marriage/cohabitation rates for women 28+ to collapse and most men to exclusively date early-20s women. That is not what we observe in normal populations. Therefore the claim can’t be broadly true.
“Disposable” is being used ambiguously Are we talking about: a) ease of replacing a partner, b) social sympathy after a breakup, c) dating market options, or d) likelihood of being left? Each has different drivers. Without defining the metric, “equally disposable” is not a testable statement.

More accurate framing: Some people treat relationships transactionally. In those subcultures, both sexes can be treated as replaceable for different reasons. But that’s not a universal rule of male/female behaviour, and celebrity examples don’t prove it.

Instead of focusing on having become damaged goods, why not celebrate the imperfections that make us who we are?

Perhaps the implicit point you're getting at is that if people aren't seen as disposable then relationships are secure and safe. But that's a passive sort of relationship that exists because you declare it exists. A positive relationship involves constant and active choosing. It involves investing your time and effort into a specific pairing rather than keeping a lookout for the next upgrade. It's not just you and them, it's you + them + your shared interaction. That shared component resists depreciation and even grows over time.

And that shared component isn't swappable. Every time you switch it has to be rebuilt all over again. In other words, it has "value" of a personal kind. Like think of a hand-written poem from a parent or something. It's probably worth very little to someone else, but to you it would carry a lot of sentimental value. So it is too with a relationship.

And look I'm not a fool, sometimes that shared personal value is not enough. Some jaded person might even say that married couples stick it out because they can't leave and upgrade. We know breakups happen, people cheat, people fall out of love, etc. Some people do try to upgrade because they value those tangible things you call out more than what they've build with someone. But many couples also pair up for life. They either understand intuitively or organically discover that the grass is greenest where you water it.

People aren’t just disposable based on money, looks, or age, relationships are about connection, trust, and compatibility, which can last well beyond physical or financial factors. Doesn't seem right. Women aren't as easily disposable as men for most men. Most men can't replace women. That's why age gap is such a big deal and comes with the power imbalance. A younger woman has more power than an older man and can easily find another older man or a man her age (which would be her preference anyway), while an older man can't find another younger woman as easily. The fact that superstars and celebrities can replace them doesn't change anything if you look at the big picture.

Older "high value" men can get relationships with younger and beautiful women but they are largely transactional, as are most large age gap relationships. If a man wants a lifetime bond he statistically needs to be with a woman within 4 years of his own age

But sure, they are winning if they are just looking to have a child with a younger woman since they have a biological advantage there, but that has nothing to do with relational longevity

Everyone is disposable tbh, I don't quite agree with the factors for both women and men but people are disposable in that you can simply always find better. There are over 8 billion of us, if one doesn't match what you're looking for, you can simply move on to the next

Men have more potential to preserve or increase their SMV over time. The catch is that while a woman's SMV may decrease or it's harder to maintain her SMV her male counterpart at any point in life has a lower SMV. So even though men can increase their SMV they still don't have as high of an SMV as similar women at any age. Women really complain about discrimination or problematic thinking because when they're 40 their SMV is only higher than men instead of a lot higher when they were younger.

Men are disposable because when women find a richer, higher value/status guy who is "more alpha" than the previous one, she would move on to the next man.

While most women won't actually do this, this is absolutely something that most women can do.

While women are disposable based on their physical value (age, looks) and can be exchanged for youthful gf/wife, like for example Timati do it with all of his 3 baby mamas (don't want to mention Leo for billionth time), because men like him can afford to switch the "consumables".

This however is something the vast majority of men cannot do, and it's only a small minority of men who can do this with any success, and this also completely prevents a man's ability to have a stable long-term relationship.

But unlike men, women can't do nothing to preserve their value to men, because men value physical apect in women the most, so women become "damaged goods" anyway (aging past 25-27).

The part women seem to consistently miss for some reason is that men generally want peace and happiness. Most of men's needs are simple and easy to fulfill, and keeping his stomach full and his balls empty fulfills somewhere around 50% of a man's needs, while most of the rest can be summed up as "be fit/don't be fat, be feminine/don't be hostile, be friendly/don't be a nag".

It's literally that simple and men have been saying the same thing over and over and over again for decades, but somehow women still haven't gotten the memo.

In contrast women's wants and needs are an ever-expanding list of often contradictory things that men must fulfill and perform to her exacting standards, or else he's the selfish asshole and she's justified in breaking up with him.

So no, men and women are not equally disposable in relationships.

It's funny how when an issue affects men more than women, we have plenty of posts coming out about how "akshyually women suffer just as much so men aren't worse off, it's equal".

Like no, sometimes men legitimately face issues worse than women, why are we gatekeeping victimhood as though having a penis magically protects men from having issues?

People aren't disposable, the role is interchangeable. This is why I recommend against being selected based on the role over who you are as a person.
