i mean there are levels of being a dork.

Im a software engineer. I see all elvels of dork.

I see the anti-social coder who does nothing with his off time but code.

I see the somehwat social coder who spends his day coding, and free tiem trying some new random activity.

I see the sem-social coder who likes to go to the gym and work on his body.

I see the semi-social coder who doesnt really love to code but does it for the money, enjoys it enough to stay and hangs out with a bunch of his friends on the weekends.

All these guys have nerdy features to them, the ones you dont think will spend a whole day wathcing anime and going to conventions.

But the more anti-social ones i promise you are not the ones getting girls.

What do you mean by "dork"? Because what you mentioned seemed to me more like being yourself, having self-worth, confidence, and being outcome independent. Which are of course very attractive qualities.

But when you say "dork", I don't exactly picture a dude that does well with women. I picture someone with very poor social skills.

The first half of that may be true conditionally. But from my experience and many examples I could cite, the non-attachment nonsense is a Buddhist idea repackaged for guys who need to justify polyamory, as if it needs justification.

For their own reasons, they need to denigrate the guy who locks on to one woman and in doing so arrogantly believe they are superior to the man who who is fulfilled by one woman, as if there is virtue in having a “rotation”.

Among those (including myself) who became “attached” to one woman are Johnny Cash, Neil Armstrong, Ronald Reagan, Michael Douglas, Chuck Yeager, John Glenn, Napoleon, Denzel Washington, Paul Newman, Chuck Norris… . Need I go on?

In my own case I had an epiphany: why subject myself to rejection by five “8s” when I could feel the same humiliation by being rejected by one “40”, which to me was one who maxxed out on so many criteria, she was off the charts?

That girl finally entered my world and it was such a triumph, so preposterous, so improbable to even my most supportive friends, that my father even quipped my autobiography should be titled, “How Did I Wind Up With Her.” (Both she and I asked the same question often.)

You can have your Zen non-attachment. It holds no appeal for me. None at all.

And the “strategy” I used to pull it off was far superior to any I’ve come across on Redditt. The only investment was time.

Well as a classic dork - not really a book reader but more a coder deep into a select few pop culture genres with great disregard for others... I've been dorky about game and turned my negative into a positive.
I havent really gone far enough to optimize my results as I always find high quality girls early on who are GF material, thus requiring me to not have to go casual.
I think I learned to become emotionally mature in my single phase but there's only so much detachment you can have from results. Regardless, I got deep into Julien's inner game lectures and accepted rejections as a gift and even learned to chase them. Now Im happily committed to a beauty, but even if I wasnt Id definitely be happy, maybe even thrilled to find the next person.
