Worst I've done is called it as I saw it. I had a woman try to hook me up with her sister. I thought she was single and that's why. Turns out she has had a boyfriend for three years. She then said, she wanted to point out that he did too, but it would just cause trouble. I tried to be nice and just said, "it's probably better if I keep my opinion to myself".

She pressed me and I broke. I said, ok, here it is, he is an asshole. She looked surprised. I told her that I thought she looked damn good and if someone can't understand that people and their bodies change over time, he is an asshole. If he doesn't like it, he could have offered to go on a walk with you or join you at the gym or something. Yelling at you won't help you change your weight.

She looked shocked and I apologized, but said that's how I feel. But hey, I'm sick of seeing douche bags that treat women like shit get the decent ones. I'd probably land them too if I was an asshole, but I wasn't brought up that way.

OP, The heart of your question is “WHY AREN'T we shaming the dogs who sleep with married woman and instead sitting here whining about cheating wives???”

There are a few reasons:

1) the cheating wife is the one who formed a monogamous union with her husband so the obligation to uphold that lies primarily with her. The guy she approached took no such oath to her husband and it isn’t his job to police the behavior of other people’s wives.

2) the insinuation of the question is that the woman/wife has limited self-determination and is just a slave to her animal desires. This is highly sexist and inaccurate.

3) people who sleep with other people’s spouses Are looked down on, labeled and judged. The term you are looking for is “homewrecker”.

Your suggestion that prior generations were less degenerate than today’s is highly suspect. We know that founding fathers raped slaves, that presidents and titans of industry had mistresses and that entire subsets of journalism were dedicated to documenting both the acts and rumors of romantic dalliances.

These days we just have so much more surveillance, which makes getting caught a higher probability.
