If any man has you up at 3am checking to see if he's cheating, you should just break up with his ass.
[–]ms_monquisFDS Disciple273 points274 points275 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Boom. Exactly.
Now if a friend calls me at 3am and says “come get me, I’ve had enough of this useless piece of shit” then I’m on my way.

Then she isn't ready for a relationship and needs to break up with him so she can work on herself.

If I am up at 3am for a man he better be literally on fire!

Unless I’m in the Fire Department and getting paid, I’m not risking my safety. You know he did something dumbass to catch fire.

So I think what you should do in this case is...absolutely go with your friend and be there for your friend, but also be there to reel your friend back from the drama of the moment (it's addictive to the brain) and try to cut it as short as possible with as minimal confrontation as possible. If she really needs to see it to believe it this time, that's just how it is. For some people it is, and many of us have been in that place where we've been gaslit to hell and think we need evidence for anyone to acknowledge it after all our other attempts to address things making us uncomfortable have been written off by the ones who supposedly love us the most as just overly sensitive dramatic crazy nonsense.
But while you're with her, you need to be there in her ear telling her girl, the fact that we are even here for this man means his behavior is unacceptable and you deserve better. He should be with you right now, not me. Isn't that enough? Look what being associated with him has done to your life. Is this what you want your nights to be like? Is this what your love story looks like? There are so many people and men who could do better for you. You can do better for you. Do you trust me? When you find it easy to trust people over long periods of time it's not because they have kind eyes or anything like that. It's because they've behaved in a manner that's trustworthy. You don't trust him anymore because he hasn't. I love you--let's go home and drink some wine and this weekend we'll do a little girls trip, okay? This loser doesn't matter.
Be that bird. If she doesn't listen, she's not ready and keep your mouth shut until she asks. Don't don't facilitate drama. You assist if it's a matter of her leaving or helping keep her safe.

You are the friend every woman deserves, and that every woman should aspire to be.

I mean, i'm all about supporting other women but NEVER again will I go out of bed and tamper with my precious sleep for a man.
[–]goblinwiseauFDS Newbie24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
exactly...my sleep is so important. idgaf about some trifling ass man. fuck him. she needs to just block & ghost him. i'm not enabling pickme behavior..
[–]Possible-WeddingFDS Newbie12 points13 points14 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I’m glad you said this - I love my friends but I’m not getting out of bed to go bust him. If she is that suspicious of him she shouldn’t be with him. I feel that is totally enabling.

[–]TigreImpossibileFDS Apprentice2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Right?!! I mean, girl... If he's your man and you don't know exactly where he is at 3am, dump him. He's already too much trouble. Get your beauty sleep 💅🏼
[–]LondonDaPinkFDS Newbie40 points41 points42 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Women should help other women but other women need to actually listen to women too. I'm telling her to just block and delete his ass and going back to sleep. No man is worth my emotional labor.

This. Had plenty of friends ask for advice/help with their shitty relationship. I've never had a single one of those friends actually listen to the advice I give.
[–]DM_ME_YOUR_KITTENSFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I always ask first if they're actually going to use the advice. Because if they're not, I won't be giving any more advice. If they didn't follow and ask again, I say, "You didn't take my advice to heart last time, so why would this time be different?"
It sounds like a question but I say it in a way that makes it a statement.
[–]penguino4344FDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's smart. I have a few that come back with the same problems over and over, never thought to just call them out on never taking my advice.
[–]DM_ME_YOUR_KITTENSFDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It did break up a few friendships, one was only for a few years. They were incredibly upset that I called them out on it. And one came back, acknowledged that they were wrong and apologized.
Don't come to me for advice, multiple times in a row, with the same problem when you don't even try my advice.
The one friend that came back, I actually go to them for their perspective occasionally. I try to take my own advice, but it's so dang hard. So it's good to get another perspective. That experience made my friend grow and realize that sometimes you just need to hear another opinion.
But yeah, expect that you will lose friendships over this. And maybe some even grow stronger.

We all should support one another! Yes💕
But, why would a cheating boyfriend be with this level of effort? You could use that time into bettering yourself. He’s not worth it. Nah.
[–]willowgrowingrootsFDS Disciple152 points153 points154 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Guess it’s okay to put effort for one night spying to get solid proof, it saves you hours of his gaslighting & second thoughts after you leave. Makes leaving easier.

[–][deleted] 68 points69 points70 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
no, this is pick me behavior. if u feel a need to get at at 3 am to check if your partner is cheating either u got some serious abandonment issues or u got a partner that makes u feel like his cheating. get a therapist or break up. only be with a man who makes u feel secure and confident, not with someone who u have to spy on at 3 am.

Perfect response. I had girlfriends like this in my 30s. They would come to my house and make me toast when I had pneumonia and couldn't move. Now, I feel like my female friends just use me as entertainment, and female co-workers are trying to sabotage me. if you have a supportive, trusting relationship with a loyal girlfriend, don't let it go. It's worth more than gold.
[–]dragon_wolf4FDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This. Having a genuine girl friends support network as an adult is gold! It's so hard to make true friends as an adult!

Could be a cheating husband, with proof, it makes the divorce easier, right?

[–]xNayxNayxFDS Newbie17 points18 points19 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Def would support my friend if this was some out of the blue occurrence! Now if he was out here giving her all kinds of drama, cheating, treating her badly etc I would link her to FDS and watch her level tf up and leave that monster.
Then we’d have a girl’s night complete with an awesome bottle of champagne and charge our glasses to her new found freedom.🥂

I won't do all that but I do screenshot dm's & send them to their gf's.
When I was waitressing a guy used to bring a different woman into my cafe every week until I ran into him at a local bar & blew his spot up. She walked out immediately & he was livid. I said "Oh they don't all know about each other? Oops."
The worst was in college when an acquaintance asked me out not realizing I was friends with his gf. When I asked about her he said he was seeing a few girls & she didn't mean anything to him. I laughed saying "bro's before hoes" & he left thinking he was the man. I immediately msd her we had to talk & stopped at her place omw home to tell her what happened. She took it really hard, the whole time he was telling her he loved her.
I make sure these wannabe fboys know not to disrespect other women in front of me.

I’ve gotten into pickmeisha’s relationship drama before and NEVER AGAIN. Women like this have all the evidence they need to dump him and won’t, if a man is making you sit up until 3 am and you believe he’s cheating, he probably is. She doesn’t want to live the truth and she will not leave him. I refuse to deal with that, now if she dumps his ass at 3am and needs me to come pick her up that’s different.
[–]penguino4344FDS Newbie1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
If he's got you that worried its time for a new man. Either you got insecurities you need to work through before a relationship, or hes giving off bad vibes. Either way, ain't nobody got time for that!
