Realistically, their victim complex is going to make it play out like this: Men can move their legs so they are deliberately taking up more space, whereas fat people can't "help" their size, so it's alright for them to take up more seats because "they can't do anything about it"

Basically:

  • how to penalize male behavior

  • how to reinforce our victim hood

[–]denart47 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You can't do anything about being fat? yeah right

[–]Ahrius5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You missed what I was getting at, didn't you?

It's okay to admit that.

[–]denart41 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am not disagreeing with your point or anything. I wanted to put extra emphasis on the fat part.

[–]neoj88883 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So fix a wrong by making it wrong for everyone? I never got this approach: "Oppression's okay as long as it's equal opportunity oppression."

[–]QQ_L2P1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Because people are stupid and would rather people suffer in their misery than be constructive about fixing it.

[–]neoj88880 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Again, wrong. Yes, people are stupid. And you're not wrong about the cruelty. But this hasn't little to do with cruelty or stupidity. It's cowardice. We lived in a world turned cowardly.

[–]kidjs1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Or, they will be shaming healthy people for not taking enough space.

[–]laere1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

On my trip to spain some broad needed two seats. Then I saw why.

[–]Jigsus0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If that happens I will get fat just to manspread in nyc

[–]Diddlydangerous 88 points88 points88 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

This is the most sexist law ever.

[–]sirjuicybooty38 points39 points40 points 11 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

Its not even that it's sexist, it's just fucking stupid. "Excuse me" how fucking hard is that? Fuck and now we're wasting police force effort and legal time with this? Jesus christ this is stupid.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself59 points60 points61 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This isn't sexist because women aren't being arrested /s

[–]RU_Crazy 30 points31 points32 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sexism = power + prejudice

5 = 2 + 2

Orwellian

[–]denart414 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can't be sexist against men or racist against whites.

Kids are being taught that in school right now.

[–]iLLprincipLeS6 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

the dark age of manquisition is upon us.

[–]kidjs4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Check out the rape law in Hong Kong. In Hong Kong, rape can only be committed by a man upon a woman.

[–]ExistD93 points94 points95 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

What about women that take up two seats because their handbag is so fucking special?!

[–]neoj888819 points20 points21 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

What about them? This is a tacky "mensrights" kind of perspective on the issue. This is one area that TRP usually thrives on in comparison. Arresting for this kind of nothing stuff is nonsense. Having more arrests for more nonsense is no kind of fix for anything.

[–]Mr-charming 21 points21 points21 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

This is targeted at men though, hence the "Man" spreading. The whole case is fucking ridiculous, if we want women (who are the ones clucking as loud as they can about men being men) to realize how stupid their being we need to hold them accountable to their own sense of perverted justice so they'll whinge in the other direction.

In other words, once women start getting arrested for "manspreading" they'll complain to have it removed as it infringes on their "rights" and we can go back to sitting comfortably without these stupid cunts oppinions affecting our commute.

If you didn't already guess this whole ordeal pisses me off to no end, that you can be arrested for simply being comfortable and womens inability to ask for you to move so they can sit next to you. Society is in for a rude fucking awakening when men enmasse really start to pump and dump and give no fucks about women.

[–]Day_man20207 points8 points9 points 11 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Already under way I'm sure you're familiar with the fact that 70% of men 20-35 are un married. Once I got into the world of work I pretty much heard nothing but bad shit about women. Divorces, shit tests, real smart and tough guys getting treated like children by their useless wives. Our culture has taught women to pull out the stops, you go girl! Men are saying "fuck this" now we have the red pill and the rest of the manosphere as a response to the one sided feminine imperative.

[–]Dubba 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Every few weeks I read a new article by some post-wall "career-driven" woman about how it isn't her fault that she has neither been married nor had any children by age 35. Her standards aren't too high, she spends loads of time dating, she's successful, funny, nice, very pretty (of course), etc. etc. etc.

This is definitely a relatively new development (under 10 years or so I would say) and it's only going to continue to get worse as more men realize that type of lifestyle doesn't suit them whatsoever. Where I work, out of the 50+ men under 25 I've spoken to casually about my marriage over the past few years, damn near all of them have fervently denied any plans on getting married. It's usually their first response. Even timid, awkward young "men" are learning that marriage is a no-win situation for them. They see the married men around them being constantly hassled by their wives and being generally unhappy and take notice. Why wouldn't they?

A lot of western women are in for a very rude awakening as the pendulum continues to violently swing the other way. A lot of ugly women are going to start to get treated with the same disposability and disgust as ugly men... and they aren't going to like it.

[–]neoj88880 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

This is exactly what the plan is, and we're playing in to it, completely. The godmother of feminism, basically, Gloria Steinem, was acting on part of the CIA. All this division and separation is part of a plan.

Tom Hanks fucked up by even acknowledging this bullshit as an offense and trying to excuse himself from it.

[–]Gushin_Granny_4u15 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Hanks excused himself, saying that the “train was half empty.”

He used to see the train as half-full. Thanks feminism

[–]I_HaveAHat12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Anything anti feminism is a death sentence to famous actors. Just look at what happened when kaley cuoco said she wasnt a feminist. The next day she had to make an apology

[–]kalstate0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So, feminism even tries to destroy successful women. When will this curse destroy itself?

[–]neoj88885 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. This is the most reasonable thing posted on the manner up until this far down in the comments. Just accepting this, or saying, "well then such-and-such should happen to women..." is just playing in to the idea of this being at all acceptable.

[–]icallmyselfmonster1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Why not make seats that are reasonable size... No that can't happen, think of the shareholders.

[–]neoj88880 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Because this has nothing to do with seats. It's about suppressing us, the slaves, to see just how much they can get away with.

[–]Sir_Shitlord_focker[S] 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He could have been the face of fuck you I'll spread my balls out all over the seat if I want, instead he went with, sorry but it was empty....

[–]scarletspider326 points27 points28 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

They seriously got a law passed that makes it illegal for a man to display dominant body language. Now the next thing they'll call for is to make it illegal for a man to try and flirt with a woman. Then men would have to risk arrest to prove he's a real man. I swear I don't understand how the men in power have become so stupid and the ultimate white knights.

[–]2Overkillengine17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I swear I don't understand how the men in power have become so stupid and the ultimate white knights.

Those in power don't have to worry nearly as much about rules. The pandering to SJW's is a socially acceptable way for them to suppress potential competitors.

[–]bluedrygrass4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I swear I don't understand how the men in power have become so stupid

Because they aren't stupid, and never have been. All of this is done on purpose. There's a precise plan behind. Feminists may be stupid (but many times they don't do things out of stupidity, they're well aware of what they're doing and why), but the (male) ones that started the feminist movement were evil geniuses.

[–]MagnanimousGenius 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Zionist rich Jewish families? No sarcasm

[–]panterin1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They need to do everything to keep the boots on the cheeks of men to subjugate them. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to maintain their power.

[–][deleted] 42 points43 points44 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Fucking idiots. They are brazen hypocrites though, have to give them that. There was a photo they showed where a man is guilty of "man-spreading" but a woman is sitting beside him, also taking up two seats, one for her fat ass, the other for her fat bag.

What will it take for the idiotic cops to realize the stupidity of what they're doing? I sincerely hope that the next one they charge for man-spreading, is the son, brother, or father of one of the cops who went out and arrested these guys.

[–]makethemsayayy 20 points21 points22 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I was talking to my mom in the car, and you know what she says?

I just don't get how when a husband beats his wife within an inch of her life, then she kills him, how isn't that self defense?

I explained: well mom, that can be abused incredibly easily. (to make it hit home I used myself) What if I marry some bitch, and she shoots me, then claims I beat her up a lot, which you know I'd never do. Then how would you feel?

It really dawned on me, she's just another woman. AWALT. Have to make it hit home before they realize how fucking corruptible these bullshit laws are.

[–]Meglomaniac11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I just don't get how when a husband beats his wife within an inch of her life, then she kills him, how isn't that self defense?

If that happens all at the same time, that is 100% self defense. If the husband is beating her that bad, to the point where she fears for her life/severe bodily harm, and she pulls out a pistol and shoots him dead on the spot...

100% self defense.

[–]makethemsayayy 4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Oh the way she explained it was that she killed him later on. I forget how she worded it. But yeah that's obviously self defense. But something about battered woman defense led into the convo and that's what the topic was.

[–]RoninUnderground 7 points7 points7 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Exactly. Except perhaps in extremely rare instances of false imprisonment (where you know, you were physically shackled or locked away), if you had time to plan a murder, you had time to leave.

[–]Meglomaniac1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I agree wholeheartedly.

I think that the ONLY way this could happen is if you had heaps and heaps of evidence backing up the defense and even then it shouldnt get you out of a penalty. Call the fucking cops thats what they are for.

[–]RoninUnderground4 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm 100% pro-personal defense, but it's only defense while in the moment of present or incipient physical attack.

[–]neoj88885 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not stupid. It's evil. Until we address it for what it really is, nothing changes. Evil is a cancer that needs to be destroyed, or it destroys the host.

[–]RoninUnderground 3 points3 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What will it take for the idiotic cops to realize the stupidity of what they're doing?

I get the feeling that'll never happen.

[–]MagnanimousGenius 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

I get the feeling that'll never happen.

Only with that attitude. We're the boots on the ground, soldier.

Since the arrests were at midnight, it was either quotas or they were unruly, unkempt minorities. Or maybe the officers just felt like being dicks. My point is I doubt they're looking for people manspreading to arrest, it's more likely they wanted to arrest these people and manspreading was the BS charge they came up with.

[–]Endorsed ContributorrebuildingMyself27 points28 points29 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

"But we don't have quotas"

Said every cop ever (usually with a tinge of annoyance at their little game being called out)

[–]1Claude_Reborn12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"But we don't have quotas"

It's hilarious in my city because I know the guy who caters their end of year award bash, where the prizes are handed out.

I quote the date and location and ask if they enjoyed the Main course dish, and name it.

That shuts them the fuck up pretty fast.

[–]Tarnsman4Life29 points30 points31 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

If memory serves I read somewhere at least one of them was on parole and this is basically a trumped up case to get "criminals" off the streets. I dont see the subway being very busy at midnight.

[–]I_Am_My_Own_God7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In NYC, it's not uncommon for the subways to still be busy at midnight.

[–]Tarnsman4Life9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Packed though? I will admit its been about 8 years since I visited NYC but I don't remember them being packed past 10PM.

[–]gloriasinefine0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Get on the 4,5,6 past midnight on the weekend and it'll seem like rush hour.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan11 points12 points13 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

It's bullshit and it shouldn't be tolerated. If the arrests were around midnight then odds are there was no shortage of seats for others to take. It really should only be enforced when subways are busy sorta like parking stuff is mostly only enforced during the daytime.

[–]-PopeOfNope- 12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I'd love to see the laws on this. Unless it's explicity written somewhere that taking up too much space is illegal, this is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

[–]Shiningknight12[🍰] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

The judge actually dismissed the charges. It really was just the police harassing dudes.

[–]lachiemx7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The article said she issued them with a 'good behaviour citation'.

[–]Shiningknight12[🍰] -5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Which just means that as long as they don't get charged with the same thing again, they are free.

[–]Magicman11620 points21 points22 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

'Manspreading' arrests should never be enforced.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just go into court and say with a straight face 'I'm sorry, I cant help but take up more space because you see my balls are so huge that if I put my legs together it'll cause me unbearable pain and that would be cruel and unsuual punishment which is prohibited by the 8th Amendment'

[–]QQ_L2P0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That law shouldn't be enforced ever. If the subway is busy in the middle of the day and someone is taking up space you say excuse me or use the social stigma attached to being a dick to make sure they don't do it.

This law is a waste of everybody's time.

[–]through_a_ways-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

like parking stuff is mostly only enforced during the daytime.

HAHAHAHAHA

where the fuck do you live

[–]1Dark-Ulfberht1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, and this makes the situation worse. One more dumbass law that can be used to arbitrarily arrest people.

And to think, people wonder why there is so much contempt for the law lately.

[–]Meglomaniac0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would 100% suggest that this is a vagrancy clearing charge rather then a real charge.

Doesnt seem like something the police would ever actually file.

[–]fuccboi9000 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No. The handlers need to be taken out behind the barn. Society could drastically improve overnight if the sociopaths were eradicated. The vast amount of societal problems are caused by a very small minority.

[–]turbinfullofc4 14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

This is just an extension of penis envy. Women can't spread their legs so neither can men.

Surely the general public are going to laugh at feminists even more for this childish, man-hating bullshit.

Next up - ban men from peeing standing up. No more urinals little buddy.

[–]1CowardlyPetrov22 points23 points24 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Feminists really are trying to do this.

[–]TheManshack3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

They're literally going to push for a law so they can roll around in our piss. Can't say I'm surprised after watching them defecate, piss, and menstruate on stage and dub it "art."

[–]genki-sama 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Friend wherever did you observe this?

[–]TheManshack0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It was a reference to them removing urinals & piss getting on the seat.

[–]genki-sama 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I was talking about the latter part.

[–]TheManshack1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]MagnanimousGenius 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I've heard of the pissing on menstruating, but defecation is new. Although I'm not surprised.

A link would be nice though brother

[–]TheManshack1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't have a link sorry brother, I saw it months ago. It was a video with a woman pissing, shitting, bleeding, and throwing up with a huge crowd watching. Not much more I can explain :/

There's nothing more misogynistic and oppressive than an upright urinating man.

[–]bad_pattern36 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

you think you're exaggerating but there is an effort in leftist circles to make all public restrooms unisex - meaning no urinals and most likely stalls that are better isolated

they cannot abide any differences, because difference implies advantage for someone

[–]unassumingusername71 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The only possible result of this is pee on the seat.

[–]ComradeCynic3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Um, in some European countries they are already trying to do this. This is from 5 years ago... http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2010/aug/21/unthinkable-having-a-sit-down

oh god, the feminist brainwashing starting from birth now...

There is literally no advantage to having to sit down and take off your pants to pee.... there is a reason men's clothing is designed with utility in mind... and a fly.

Funny you should say that; I work in a new government office, not a lot of employees in our particular office. There are 3 washrooms, men's, women's and handicapped; not a urinal to be found.

[–]Senior ContributorSkorchZang55 points56 points57 points 11 years ago* (17 children) | Copy Link

How're you enjoying the ride? Where'd you think this feminist train of thought was going?

All forms of dominant male body language are criminal. Looking a woman in the eyes without her permission is eye-rape. It is RUDE to be a boy.

BP men will roll over and take it as usual: "oh well I guess it is kind of rude". No understanding of the physiological fact that if you don't manspread, that makes you less of a man. The feminists understand, they did their homework.

[–]Rol3playeR2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

Hey, I am just interested. Does the red pill train of thought seriously support this claim: "physiological fact that if you don't manspread, that makes you less of a man."? If so, why?

[–]FourNominalCents22 points23 points24 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Body language is hugely impactful on both your psychology and that of those around you. Taking up a maximum amount of space is what makes dominant body language dominant, and it will make you feel better, more manly, more powerful, and it will get you places in life. If that is banned for guys, but somehow the purses can stay, it is literally making men submissive to women via known psychological methods.

[–]Rol3playeR-5 points-4 points-3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So, are you familiar with something people call I.L.S. or Imaginary Lat Syndrome? Is that really manly too? Since it really is kind of what you are describing. In PL/BB communities these types of people are usually heavily frowned upon. I imagined that "manspreading" is certainly not much different. I certainly agree that by itself banning "manspreading" before banning fat people is pretty unreasonable. I only question the single quote I've outlined in my earlier comment.

[–]FourNominalCents0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's an issue of magnitude. Some ILS is helpful. Just not to a point where you call it ILS. Too much and it's obviously unnatural and tryhard.

[–]I_HaveAHat6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

You dont have to manspread to be a man, but not manspreading because women tell you to is bluepill. Sit comfortably and forget about what nonsense women say

[–]bluedrygrass4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not spreading around when it's crowded it's just common fucking cortesy.

If someone takes part of my space just to feel manlier, then he's a jackass and frankly stupid.

That being said, there's no such a thing as manspreading. Females are the ones taking up more space usually, either by being fatasses and having wider hip bones, or by placing their precious bags or dogs on free seats.

Manspreading is just psychological terrorism toward males, to make them feel inferior, guilty, always in position to be accused of something.

[–]I_HaveAHat0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I take up lots of space on the bus everyday because nice guys are too nice to ask me to move over. Moral of my story is if you see someone taking up space just ask them to move over, dont get all butthurt about it

[–]Rol3playeR0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This I understand and agree with. It is seriously contradictive with the quote in question though (which has been deeply agreed upon here, judging from all the upvotes and further answer to my question), which makes me wonder.

[–]pennyscan3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Imagine a law forcing you to curtsy when you meet someone. Would that feminise you? Or a law making pink sundresses or timid voices mandatory for men in public.

[–]antariusz1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Well, more specifically... if you are less of a man, you don't need to manspread... because your giant cock isn't uncomfortably wedged in between your legs.

[–]Rol3playeR3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You've got to be joking though, right? You can't seriously claim that you have a dick so large that it impedes your legs from being a moderate 10-30 degree angle (depending on how buff your legs are) from each other and require a 90 degree spread? That is definitely something straight out of imaginary lat syndrome.

[–]antariusz2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm an air traffic controller... (So I consider myself an expert at visualizing angles), I feel very comfortable sitting at a 45 degree angle, anything less than 20 degrees is just not even going to be comfortable to MOST men, I'm not even well endowed. The seated at attention position taught in the military (ie: not intended to be comfortable) will still give you about a 15 degree spread. Back a couple months ago when "manspreading" first made the news, I saw pictures of men accused of taking up too much space with very "moderate" levels of leg spread (less than 60 degrees).

I think you underestimate exactly how wide you have to have your hips open to have your legs at a 90 degree angle (a right triangle) or more.

Unless you have a micro penis or no penis, it's not complicated to understand... Having your penis crushed between your legs is just not comfortable. I don't know what sex you are, but I'm assuming a woman, but imagine having your clit pinched by a man with giant fingers..... For 45 minutes straight... With no rest... And yes, it is an extreme double standard because, as noted in various videos... Women ALWAYS make sure their "personal bubble" extends out several feet from their person in public spaces. And are the much more guilty party of taking up multiple spaces in public transport. (Airport shuttles, etc)

[–]sway_usa 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

For me it's more about balls being squished.

[–]Real_American 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've been upvoting your comments because for the most part, I totally agree but u/antariusz nails it in his reply here. 45 degrees is a reasonable angle and I say this as someone with a small penis. Many of the images of manspreading I've seen online exemplify exactly that. Being comfortable in public transportation, so long as the car isn't completely packed and you're doing so at the expense of others, is absolutely reasonable.

[–]Senior ContributorSkorchZang0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Speaking for myself here, not TRP at large.

Answer's yes. As anybody who dabbled in PUA knows, there are strong feedback loops. Body language is affected by mental state. Mental state is affected by body language. All at the same time, they feed into each other, to create the moment-to-moment process we later call somebody's identity. There was a study discussed on TRP not long ago, where it was shown that just performing the basic "Tarzan pose" resulted in measurable increases of blood testosterone in men.

The overall "criminalization" of dominant male posturing is not cute, foolish or empowering for women. I see in it a calculated, I'd even say surgical, attempt on the life of masculine virtue in western culture.

Not that anyone's surprised, feminists have from the beginning targeted it for total elimination, and this suits their bosses & financiers. At first, everyone laughed. For many men that got processed through the feminist divorce system, the time has already come to cry helplessly and suck on a shotgun in their (now ex-wife's) garage.

With men effectively gone, replaced by feminized "myn", a nation can much more easily be ruled in perpetuity using the normal techniques of smokes & mirrors. White men in particular are most troublesome and "problematic" in this respect, they keep on thinking outside of the box no matter how forbidden you make it to do so.

[–]ForensicFungineer14 points15 points16 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

[–]denart43 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yea seriously. Even if you can press hard enough to close you legs, it is very bad for your sperm.

[–]yiab127-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you are physically incapable of closing your legs when sitting, you should see a doctor.

[–]denart41 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I didn't say I am incapable, you just have to put a light pressure constantly.

[–]ForensicFungineer1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Exactly. You have to sit there and consciously remember to hold your legs closed. I'm not apologizing for the guys that sit all gangster style taking up two and a half seats, but for fucks sake I'm not gonna feel bad for sitting normally.

This whole "manspreading" bullshit has nothing to do with space any everything to do with control. I'm not gonna prostrate myself because feminist society suddenly thinks I'm obliged to.

Maybe this is the wakeup call people need to how dangerous feminism is becoming to the everyday existence of men.

Now, police are actually targeting men for sitting with slightly too wide legs on trains.

I keep warning my male friends. People think I am crazy. But we're seeing insane feminist bullshit influence laws now, and now we will see men be arrested for nothing, destroying their civil liberties. Anyone have a different source thans frickin Russia Today?

[–]Quintus_Pillus1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was going to say this. Russia Today is awful and they even say this :

Two Latino men were allegedly arrested for manspreading, sitting with knees wide open, thus occupying two seats on May 22 at 12:11am, according to a report released by the Police Reform Organizing Project in New York. This is probably the first time manspreading has led to an arrest and court appearance.

Allegedly arrested. They are covering their backs when someone shows they are wrong.

[–]sikballa2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So the entire idea is people taking up too much space, right?

Will I be "manspreading" if I:

1.So if I put my legs up on another seat

  1. Put my bags on another seat

  2. Sit in an awkward position that takes up more space than necessary

  3. Be so physically revolting that no one will ever want to sit next to me

The above is non-exhaustive of course as there will be other ways to take up more space than necessary.

So if aforementioned acts will be me arrested, fair enough, over-fucking-zealous, but fair.

If that statute/regulation specifically prohibits sitting with my legs wide apart, than it is without a doubt as fishy as Paris Hilton's snatch.

[–]exotube2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This is what happens when feminists with an obvious agenda are behind 'social justice.' Instead of fighting ALL people who take up too much space, this is only about MEN who spread their legs. Fat people, women spreaders, people lying down and people with bags ALL take up too much space, which was ALREADY illegal. But now it's all about evil men who are 'manspreading' as a form of evil patriarchal dominance. bullshit! video example from article.

Back in 2007, my friend lied down on a bench in an empty train car and was threatened with arrest/ticketing. And he's a 'privileged' white male. Labeling 'assholes taking up too much room' now is only a sin a man can commit because it has been mislabeled 'manspreading,' a made up feminist word just like 'cis.'

Portugal. Feminism is trying to force itself here but we are a very traditional country. Girls here take pride in being feminine and expect men to be masculine. We have our fair share of leftist loons but they're more like background noise in the sense that they speak a lot but nobody really takes them seriously.

don't worry there is a special place in hell for the people who criminalized this act

it is called "Beijing" where there is no such thing as even a partially empty subway car and yet 'manspreading' is the norm and if a woman tried to get a cop involved, he would just say "this is the way things are, deal with it. you are too manly and are disrupting our society which is the real crime here"

[–]RPMahoutsukai0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not from USA, but AFAIK, your country has a lot of laws about sexes being equal, so I suppose you can prosecute women under this law. It may be called "manspreading" like it's called "manslaugter" when you kill people, but it must apply to both sexes. So I think you can very well make a picture and submit it to the police as a proof of crime, or something of sorts, and harass police into actually arresting women for this crime.

[–]frostchomp 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If some crazy bitch cries "manspreading" and goes to the cops and the cops are stupid or corrupt enough to actually arrest me it will only give me more ammunition.

Until that happens I continue to "manspread" if there's room, and politely not hog other peoples space if it's a child, elderly or a woman. Why would I give a fuck? It's a waste of time.
