Classic story. Though frankly I would be upfront about my vasectomy, this way I'm less likely to end up dealing with the rigamarole of rounding up tests and lawyers.

[–]abcd_z[S] 36 points37 points38 points 13 years ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Makes sense. A lot of people have complained about his less-than-forthright behavior on moral grounds, but you're the first person I've seen mention the practical aspects of being forthright.

[–]Sword1122 points23 points24 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Feminists claim a womans sexual history is none of a man's business. if that is true, the status of my junk is none of theirs, especially if I have saved some swimmers.

[–]iKill_eu46 points47 points48 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

But then you wouldn't get the satisfaction of OWNING a cheating bitch.

[–]abcd_z[S] 21 points22 points23 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I dunno, it seems a little petty to focus on.
Like, yeah she tried to entrap you, but dwelling on making her miserable in retaliation doesn't seem like a very healthy use of your emotional focus and mental energy.

Still, I would never deny your agency to do so.

[–]turnipslice5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The difference is who determines what's a healthy use of your emotional focus and mental energy? Obviously the guy in the story enjoyed doing it the entire way showing that it wasn't a waste of energy or focus. I can tell that you wouldn't want to put a woman through that and yourself through that, and that's what makes us humans -- we're all different.

But I'm not going to say how he should have done it differently, because the way I see it, is that had he not have gotten a vasectomy he would have to go through so much more bullshit than he had to and possibly had to have taken care of a child that is not his. He caught the woman lying right to his face. She deserves that. Don't fuck with other dudes if we're in a relationship, or else that shit will come back to bite you in the ass. I have zero sympathy for her, and good for him for giving her a real tough life lesson.

[–]Just_like_Your_Face6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

making her miserable in retaliation

Punishment, with a very good purpose. She learned quite a lesson that day, little miss "They'll take my word over yours so nyah" might think twice next time she tries to exploit someone.

She didn't call his mom a bitch or sleep with his brother.. She tried to ruin his life and enslave him to her biological clock. That deserves punishment most severe, far greater than what she got. The fact that it appears karmic is just icing on the cake.

[–]elevul11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But it's fun. :(

IMHO he should have spread the information of her cheating all around, to destroy her reputation as well.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya, but the guy wanted to see her squirm. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

[–]soThisIsHowItEnds4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah the man's moral grounds. Not the woman's though. They are sacred.

[–]ethan860 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn, people complained about his behavior on moral grounds? I've never heard of white knighting so hard.

[–]Just_like_Your_Face0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

on moral grounds

That's funny.. I can't even think of what those moral grounds are. I should tell a person every single solitary fact about myself, even facts that have no affect on anyone else? I couldn't imagine what kind of mental gymnastics conceiving that argument would take.

Old, but still good.

The strategy is basically sound. We're living in a world hostile to the interests of men with dominant, self-actualizing goals, so make sure your ass is covered at all times, otherwise women will use the state to wring every fucking cent they can out of you.

[–]ladyuniscorn 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Old, but still good.

Very much, I saw this on /r/childfree ages ago. If you don't want kids, make sure you won't have any.

[+][deleted] -26 points-25 points-24 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We're living in a world hostile to the interests of men with dominant, self-actualizing goals

Highly debatable. At least if you're white. It is still a male dominated world.

[–]TRP VanguardHumanSockPuppet23 points24 points25 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It depends on what you mean by the word "dominated".

If you interpret it (as I suspect you are) to mean "presence" then yes, men are all over the place.

But when I say dominate, I mean "controlling influence". Once you acknowledge child custody biases, precedented child support rulings, alimony settlements, legal classifications of rape, the number of state-subsidized women-only support programs, etc. you quickly realize that women are the ones with the greatest controlling influence.

And they do so by guilting, shaming, and pleading to the men in power who play the game so that they can stay in power, even if it means that their sons will one day be kings of the ashes.

Took her out to a nice restaurant after desert I got down on one knee with a ring box in my hand.

She screams: yes yes yes

She opens the box "What's this?"

Me: "I got a vasectomy 6 months before fucking you cheating bitch. That is a negative for sperm lab report sample taken 3 days ago."

She slaps me drawing blood.

I call the 911, she runs I file assault charges refuse to pay for her meal so she also dined and dashed.

She showed me pregnant pee stick and I went directly to get a sperm count.

Lots of people told me what I did was shameful including one of the officers. I regret nothing I've done.

[–]HalfysReddit47 points48 points49 points 13 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Eh, it wasn't entirely noble, but lying to you about her child with another man was way way worse IMO, and you're allowed to stretch your shame boundaries when getting justice for that slight.

[–]Flash_Bandicoot23 points24 points25 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My nobility would get checked at the door if a crazy bitch tries to trap me with someone else's kid.

[–]Exactly_what_I_think6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I have no interest in being noble.

How is it bad to publicly display an individual's unacceptable activity?

[–]HalfysReddit-3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Because it serves only to spite them, there's no benefit to the guy by publicly shaming her other than possibly a feeling of vengeance. He already knows he's not on the hook for child support, he already knows the relationship is effectively over.

Serious question - what if after this event she killed herself? And before you respond "well that's her problem", seriously consider yourself in the guys situation. Contributing in any part to the unnecessary death of an individual isn't something one can cope with easily.

As far as being noble goes, I honestly can't understand how you operate then. I'd feel worthless if I didn't abide by my morals.

[–]Exactly_what_I_think3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

Everyone in the restaurant viewed as unacceptable act linked to an unacceptable person.

I will not allow others emotions to dictate my life.

[–]HalfysReddit-4 points-3 points-2 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I am jealous of your capacity for selfishness.

[–]Exactly_what_I_think3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you are seriously jealous and want to put your self first you are in the right place.

[–]HalfysReddit0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I respect your honesty.

[–]Pushnikov4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He didn't publicly shame her. It was in her apartment. He gave her paperwork and showed her she was lying.

Bringing in some random "suicide" scenario for no reason at all is a non-sequitor and bizarre.

[–]Endorsed Contributorburningtimber-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Being nice isn't noble; it's almost the opposite. Nobility means contempt for degraded creatures like this lying woman.

See: http://nietzsche.holtof.com/Nietzsche_beyond_good_and_evil/bge_ch9_what_is_noble.htm

Whether such a deceptive revenge can be noble is open to doubt. But certainly it was noble to avenge his injury.

[–]HalfysReddit-2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Perhaps honorable is a more fitting term then.

Because they definitely have a say in mandatory arrests and procedures their departments have to follow handed down by policy and lawmakers. Great logic dude, go after the police officer simply doing his job trying to make a difference in the world and pay his bills but is held back by policies and beaurcratic infrastructures sometimes.

[–]swiftmg-3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Let me know when the prosecution rate for women who falsely accuse males of rape is 100%.

go after the police officer simply doing his job

I'm going after police officers who don't do their job, and make judgment call based on the victims gender.

trying to make a difference in the world

So am I, by calling out those who don't do their job. It's "serve and protect", not "serve and protect if you fall within the status quo of what's socially acceptable or not"

True justice never is held back by bureaucracy, it's held back by those who have the power to act and do nothing.

You need to learn about the law sir. THERE IS NO OFFICER DISCRETION FOR DOMESTICS IN SOME STATES. You are speaking to officer discretion I believe in a uneducated way which is not applicable in this situation. You don't understand. LEOs "enforce" the laws based on social norms and laws created by Congress or state representatives. They do not create them or choose which ones to enforce and which ones to ignore. They WOULDN'T BE DOING THIER JOB if they did this. You follow the rules, policies and procedures. Maybe the problem isn't with the LEOs ita the system or the laws. I agree with you actually in some sense. Its just your logic is off my friend. Don't point fingers at people following rules so they can keep their jobs. Supervisors will find out of they DON'T arrest in a mandatory arrest situation. Then you aren't treating people equally. You need to look at the entire picture not just part of it. As far as a rape case you have to take a report when it comes in. You no nothing about REAL victims of rape. It takes courage and risk sometimes for them to even come forward to file a report

[–]EtovNowd-2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

THERE IS NO OFFICER DISCRETION FOR DOMESTICS IN SOME STATES

Whut?

You are speaking to officer discretion I believe in a uneducated way which is not applicable in this situation.

Whut?

Officer brings evidence to the DA. The DA then prosecutes. What about domestic 'discretion' are you talking about?

You don't understand.

Are you sure you do?

LEOs "enforce" the laws based on social norms and laws created by Congress or state representatives.

Yes, and false reports, or failure to act on behalf of the victim is illegal.

They do not create them or choose which ones to enforce and which ones to ignore.

This is a lie, I'd refer you to the recent Dorner case for mainstream information. It's documented, this is only the most recent/public affair.

They WOULDN'T BE DOING THIER JOB if they did this.

Hence, why I call out those who don't do their jobs.

Maybe the problem isn't with the LEOs ita the system or the laws.

So you agree with me. Then why argue against me.

Its just your logic is off my friend.

No, my logic is sound, that's why you agree with it.

Don't point fingers at people following rules so they can keep their jobs.

Nope, I point it at those who don't do their jobs.

You need to look at the entire picture not just part of it.

The kettle calling the pot 'black'.

As far as a rape case you have to take a report when it comes in. You no nothing about REAL victims of rape. It takes courage and risk sometimes for them to even come forward to file a report

Again, you flawed logic shows through young padowan. No one said rape wasn't an issue, i said 'false allegations' of rape are of concern. And failure to prosecute them is even more offensive in the eyes of the law.

Good day sir.

[–]swiftmg-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can see your point though especially with girls in high school. Got breaks up with them then they claim rape even though he's innocent and she's mad. Then their life is changed forever. These laws need to be looked at.

[–]swiftmg-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Base all your criminal justice knowledge off of the Dorner case. Im done wasting my time. You clearly are uneducated about the law. Its like talking to a 10 year old at this point.

[–]EtovNowd-2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Nope, citing it as a reference. If you don't know what that is, then perhaps educated discussions are far beyond your capacity.

You clearly are uneducated about the law.

I must be the one asking officers not to do their jobs. Hey, who knew that was being uneducated?

Its like talking to a 10 year old at this point.

That feeling. Is. Mutual.

Good day sir.

[–]swiftmg1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Not interested in talking to you its a waste of time. I have a four year degree in criminal justice yet I don't know about the law. Interesting inference you are making there. Go troll or bother someone else.

[–]swiftmg1 point 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

It is a requirement for law school.

[–]EtovNowd1 point 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

oh man, you win. It's over, you win.

[–]swiftmg1 point 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Its better too have a criminal justice background if you are going to do criminal law...versus majoring in fucking history.

[–]EtovNowd1 point 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Yeah, I hope it'll come in handy when you spending Law School learning logic and how to apply legal definitions to your work, spending time researching precedence and whether or not laws are applicable in your case.

I think the people were referring to the public embarrassment, not the vasectomy itself.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago [recovered] (8 children) | Copy Link

No, every possible avenue of public embarrassment and ridicule should be leveled at these women. The more elaborate, creative, and public the better the example she is to all of the other ladies.

[–]JoshtheAspie9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Women. Someone who cheats is not a lady.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Ha, well I can't type my snide tone when I say "ladies."

[–]JoshtheAspie0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Fair enough.

In that case it'd help if you use a word that doesn't require a meaning-altering tone to yield the right meaning.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Part of the reason I like the red pill is that usually people don't get bent out of shape over semantics. No offense, but I honestly don't give a shit about how you think "lady" should be defined.

[–]JoshtheAspie0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Fair enough, maybe you'll care about how webster defines it. http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/definition/lady

This is one of my pet peves. I have to do all sorts of things for society to call me "a real man" in some circles. Not even a gentle-man, but just a man. But even a cheating woman gets to be called a lady?

I thought this sub was supposed to knock women off of their pedistals, and deal with reality instead of flattery.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Its just a word. Usually it is feminists that obsess over how much "harm" a word they don't like might do. Try not to be OCD.

[–]JoshtheAspie1 point 13 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Its just a word. Usually it is feminists that obsess over how much "harm" a word they don't like might do.

Yep. Just a word. One that was used incorrectly. I didn't say anything about it doing harm. It's a double standard that bugs me, a niggling little thing, not some sort of cataclismic problem, like you seem to be projecting.

I presumed you knew what a peeve was.

Try not to be OCD.

To paraphrase Inigo Montoya, I do not think that word means what you think it means.

Sometimes making a point is more important to a man than shame or decency.

Because goddammit at some point it simply becomes principle.

Playing immature games and creating a bunch of drama in public is kind of pathetic. Acting like a woman doesn't make you more manly.

[–]melapelas41 points42 points43 points 13 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

Fuck that. Tricking you into raising some other asshole's child, forcing you into spending countless hours raising, teaching, providing for and spending tens of thousands of dollars in the process is the ultimate humiliation in life.

(In Spanish, it's common to use the word burlar for "cheat"... Ella se burló de mi means "she cheated on me", but it also means "she humiliated/made fun of me".)

Doing what OP did was only an infinitesimally small fraction of that and completely justified IMO. Nothing can possibly be as fucked up and horrible as lying to a man with a good income to deceive him into raising a biker/criminal/band member's/misc. badboy's child.

Latin American culture actually, amazingly, still understands what is acceptable and what is not acceptable behavior from men and women. Red pill guys, just saying, you all would love to live in the rest of the Americas.

I'm not sure how much longer it can last this way, but for the most part, I expect it's a lot better than trying to find a suitable American wife in the States.

[+]tyrryt-6 points-5 points-4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Agreed - but even pulling a fraction of the bullshit she pulled is stooping too low. The guy should be above that petty, miserable behavior - the honorable way to act (honorable in the absolute sense, not in honor to her) is to be above the bullshit played by women and children. Indulging in it just pulls you down to their level.

[–]melapelas3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I disagree in this case; what she tried to do was so despicable that it's worth it to do something that may teach her a lesson.

She'll never forget that moment and it just might be one of those things she'll think about every few weeks or so for the rest of her life.

You bet your ass the next time she tries to pull this on someone (if she does), she'll at the very least think twice before proceeding. If even one poor soul is saved a lifetime of misery and humiliation from her bullshit, it will have been well worth it IMO.

[+]darksoldierk-6 points-5 points-4 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes what the woman did was horrible, she is a terrible person, and any and all women who think that this kind of behavior is OK is simply an immoral creature. With that said, It is also immoral for a man to ask a girl out, date her, have sex with her, make her think that they can have some kind of a future together, all the while not showing her ANY trust. This situation shows the worst of both genders. You don't fight fire with fire. Any man who thinks the woman's child is not his, even if he hasn't had a vasectomy, can request the court to order a paternity test before he is ordered to pay child support.

[–]melapelas7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

all the while not showing her ANY trust.

Meh. The system is rigged against a man's favor. Half of all his possessions, child support and half of his earnings for the rest of her life are at stake... if things weren't so fucked up, I would agree with you.

can request the court to order a paternity test before he is ordered to pay child support.

Unfortunately, there are horror stories of men being forced to pay child support for a child that isn't his because he took on "a fatherly role", due to unforseen circumstances. This varies by state.

[–]darksoldierk-1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree with you, the system is rigged against a man's favour because the unfortunate truth is that all men are seen as criminals simply because they are men. By being dishonest and showing no trust to other human beings, all that we'd be doing is perpetuating the negative attitude that the law and women have against men. Yes I've heard of the same stories that you've heard, and the truth is, I've lived it when my Mom and Dad got divorced. My mom would go to court and blurt out shit like "he sexually harassed me" and "he emotionally abused me" and the court would look towards my dad to prove that he didn't. Although he did prove that all her accusations were false beyond any reasonable doubt, it cost him a lot of money and time.

In my mind, feminism was once a synonym for "Gender Equality", but not any more. Nowadays, fathers are supposed to maintain their societal as provider for the family (regardless of whether or not the mothers can fulfil that roll sufficiently), meanwhile, fighting off feminist "equality" fighters that expect men to be fired and replaced by women so that companies can maintain a certain Male to Female Ratio of employees. Does this make me angry? yes. But I know that there are honest moral ways that we can fight back. Mistrust and dishonesty is not a solution, it will only create bigger problems. Also, it is unfair to assume all women are out to screw you over just because some of them are.

So I think that it should be our goal to recreate a "human equality" movement. A movement that fights for true equality between for all genders in a way that is honest and decent.

The biggest learning value in this story comes from this:

Then, as I am about to walk out the door, I ask her the $64,000 question. "Are you sure that this baby is mine?"

Well, she goes batshit insane again. Hell, she ought to. Her plan could completely unravel if there is ANY question about my paternity. Oh, she's really screaming now. How dare I question her morals. Do I think she's a slut. I'm just trying to weasel out of my responsibilities... blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Women will bullshit, cry, hit, curse, call you names, have a mental break down, give you an Oscar worthy performance but she will lie, lie and lie to the end unless you show her a hard evidence.

[–]FountainsOfFluids16 points17 points18 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. It's impossible to tell whether a person is lying or not if they need to believe what they are saying.

[–]SE1716 points17 points18 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Actually, it's quite possible.

You have to look at what they stand to gain from lying and how adamant they are. If they completely lose their shit like the woman in the story, chances are that you are getting close to exposing their deciet and they have to get extra dramatic to protect the lie.

Look at what people do and what they will gain from the lie, not what they say. Always assume there is a possibility you are being lied to, because nobody is going to tell you they are lying to you, so there is no way of knowing for sure.

[–]FountainsOfFluids4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, but a woman telling the truth in this situation could easily resort to the same hysterics. Any "guess" about how dramatic they should be getting or not is just that, a guess.

[–]SE176 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes. But again you've proved my point. There's no quick way of knowing for sure if someone is lying to you or not, so you must always assume that it is a very real possibility and act accordingly.

So the tldr of this would be; always assume anyone could be lying to you, no matter how much they try to convince you otherwise.

[–]FountainsOfFluids5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I would agree with that.

I think there was actually a conspiracy theory involving the KKK and Planned Parenthood in which the Clan would bribe P.P. to perform more abortions on blacks than whites. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was an element of truth in that, but I highly doubt that it is policy.

It probably has more to due with you being in California, which is arguably one of the more progressive states.

Actually, the founder of "Planned Parenthood", Margaret Sanger is on record as being a eugenicist who wanted to decrease the population of black people. She'd fit right in with the South Carolinians who sterilized black folk to keep them from breeding (and yes, this is after slavery was banned).

Not that I remember.

They won't do it unless you're over 24 years of age or something.

You simply ask about it. They sit you down, and talk to you personally, they tell the risks, the fact that you may not be able to undo it, etc.

Afterwards they set up an appointment, and tell you about the required "donation". They tell you that you won't be able to drive yourself home, and that you'll need to buy a jock-strap, and a bag of frozen pees. And you'll be out of work for about two or three days.

At the same time, he seems to go through a great deal of kabuki theater just to set himself up for maximum enjoyment of the "punchline". Why go to the trouble of waiting days, coming back, getting her the flowers and whatnot, just to make her madder? Just lay the truth out there and insist she verify her claim with a DNA test.

Because of sex

[–]Blackblade_3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why go to the trouble of waiting days, coming back, getting her the flowers and whatnot, just to make her madder?

Because the story is obviously fake.

It's some beta male's misogynistic revenge fantasy, but it never happened. The long, drawn out taking of the revenge makes it seem all that much sweeter, but also gives it away as a work of fiction.

A real man would have responded to her claim that she was pregnant by telling her he had a vasectomy and then be done with her. Only a man who is fundamentally weak would spend so much effort to hurt someone in such a vengeful way, yet such a man would never be able to refrain from gloating and giving up the game before the punchline.

Thus we have a story of a small, petty manchild perfectly executing a master stroke of revenge. In other words, a work of fiction.

[–]turnipslice8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sometimes life lessons are learned the hard way, and I can tell that the man in the story wanted to give her a real tough life lesson, and that is:

  1. You don't go around fucking other dudes and not saying anything to the other man you're sleeping with.
  2. You don't pin a baby on a man if you are not sure is his, and then when questioned if it's his, you don't flip out and call him a loser and guilt trip him completely.

Had he not gotten the vasectomy, he would have suffered for not just a couple days like she did, but he could have suffered for months and years. I think him making her suffer a little bit for not telling him the truth is justice, and she learned a tough life lesson and I'm sure she's not going to pin a baby on anyone again like that. He did a good job in my opinion.

[–]veggie_girl5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Many women are like this. And retribution is oh so sweet. Petty, but who cares. Cheating and lying bitches need no sympathy from anyone.

I imagine the look on her face when her deceit is fully revealed is simply too much to miss out on. Like hearing the set up of a joke without the punchline. She pretty much lined this one up for him, if he's got the time, might as well knock the delivery out of the park.

Edit: and the pre-reveal sex was probably pretty good too.

As someone in the Snopes thread linked below pointed out: They're both scum.

The Woman is Scum because she cheated on him, got pregnant and then tried to make him claim it as hers (thus locking him down for at least 18 years, more if she thought he'd propose, and even MOAR if she divorced him, taking half his shit).

The Man is Scum because of Excessive Celebration. All he needed to do was simply tell her that he's fixed so that child couldn't possibly be his. The legal stuff was a smart move, but that could have waited until when and if the case went to court (then again, him showing all that stuff up front may have scared her out of a court case). Plus, he continued to sleep with her and "string her along" (Not sure if alpha by way of "DM;HS" or beta by continuing to fuck a woman who he knows betrayed him...)

Also, where's the proof that this story happened? I've seen this story floating around the Internets for at least 10 years now...

[–]Endorsed ContributorLastRevision8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It shouldn't matter if the story is real or not- I'm going to guess it isn't; it almost seems deliberately written to test the reader.

What the woman did here is classically heinous, and quite serious. Being prepared to lie to a man over paternity, locking him down for at least 18 years, as you noted, with tremendous financial ramifications vs "excessive celebration" and a smug attitude? Stringing an adult woman along who is capable of making her own big girl choices? Really? This is like comparing murder to shop lifting- yet women will always focus far more on the latter. It's insane; the most I'll get from showing a woman this story is "they're both wrong"- I guess when you're sitting in a pool of blood with corpses, you'd say the kid who stole the snickers bar is just as wrong?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

how can you make sure your kid is yours?

Get a paternity test. They're a little pricey, but getting one is absolutely mandatory if a woman claims she's pregnant with your child.

How can I find someone I trust?

You can't. There may be women out there who don't behave in this manner, but the price of judging wrongly is too great to leave it to chance. There is no way to tell if a woman is trustworthy or not before she screws you over.

Your best solution is to structure your life and your relationship so that you don't need to trust a woman. Let them in your life, enjoy their company, their comfort and their sex, but never let your emotional, physical, or financial well-being rely on the reliability and trustworthiness of any particular woman.

Violate this rule at your own peril.

[–]TRP VanguardWhisper0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That gets into philosophical territory... the debate over whether an unwanted child is better off being born, or not.

I don't know the answer to that. I find it hard to even have an opinion.

What I do know is that I am not comfortable with the idea of using a child as a weapon of revenge.

[–]benmarvin0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I do agree with that. I've have (male) friends that had unplanned children and the relationships went sour. But ask any one of them and they wouldn't change the fact they had the child. So many women believe that having a child together is a good way to "lock down" a guy, but in reality it almost never works that way unless he is super beta.

[–]abcd_z[S] 18 points19 points20 points 13 years ago [recovered] (2 children) | Copy Link

Insisting on an apology is rather idealistic, being based on the notion that the woman would behave fairly upon being exposed.

Red Pill mentality is far more cynical and would suggest that the woman would more likely use an emotional response or psychological manipulation to keep the man in line, even after her duplicity was unmasked.

In a nutshell, your (relative) idealism marks you as not having adopted the more cynical outlook on women and on life that TRP encourages.

I would hesitate to use cynical. It's all relative. From what I gather, the ideal simply isn't possible. I'll take Laozi's response to the Vinegar test on this: It is not bitter or sour, it simply is. Don't be angry, accept it and learn to enjoy it when it comes up.

Before you marry a woman, have a talk with her about kids. Mention that when the time comes for them you want to get a paternity test. Not because you distrust her or suspect her of anything, but because women get to have 100% certainty, why can't you? That's equality after all.

If she is going to flip her shit when she's pregnant and you demand a paternity test, a logical conversation you had with her many months ago isn't going to change a damn thing.

The best-case conversation scenario would be her nodding and saying "okay", before handling it the way she wants to anyways in the future.
The worst-case conversation scenario would be her losing her shit and causing drama.

When the best-case scenario is no better than doing nothing at all, and with the worst-case scenario being so unpleasant, you really have to wonder if having the conversation at all is such a great idea.

Damn I wish I could write this well. But this guy should have strung her along for 9 months lmao.

Surprising she didn't try to charge him with rape, either falsely, or for not telling her that he had a vasectomy, because in some women's eyes that IS rape.
