I think, generally (I'm leaving the racial part out because I've seen research that contradicts that, plus power and beauty expectations which do have an influence if you're looking at groups, etc.), yes. If all things were equal the vast majority of men would fuck [insert Victoria's Secret model] over your average homely chubby girl.

But beauty standards do change over time/culture. This is pretty obvious from research and history.
People who say what I just said and different forms of 'socially constructed notions of attractiveness' often get 'You're denying that there is evolutionary attractiveness stuff are you crazy!??!?', when generally you're not.
Its more realistic to say there are certain influences of attractiveness to signifiers of fertility etc. (boobs just in general because boobs, symmetry, youthfulness) which are then viewed differently through a cultural lens.
So I think certain differences in experience and culture is going to make a difference.

Like, some guys are super into blondes. Not 'would turn down worlds hottest brunette because that disgusts me', but just seem to have a really strong sensory thing for blonde hair. No idea why.... maybe from some early experience or something. And seem, in my experience, to choose a 'somewhat less conventionally attractive' blonde over a 'somewhat more conventionally attractive' brunette.

In terms of personal experience being hit on/looked at by men, size definitely seems to be a factor of personal taste. I'm 5'10 and even when I'm definitely not overweight I'm 'large' (big rib cage, relatively wide shoulders, wide hips, big feet).
I've known guys who are really into 'cute' petite women, as in every woman they date falls into that group, and who it has always seemed just have no interest in me that way. And it makes sense - if you've got 'a thing' for girls you sort of bend down to kiss and are little for you to protect, I'm probably not what you're after.
But then other guys will come to me over those girls. Not generally because I'm tall etc. (though some guys do seem to be into the whole amazonian thing, believe me they exist, though I'm probably not exactly what they want either), but more because of other stuff about me. They don't care about the 'shorter and I can pick her up and throw her over my shoulder' stuff, so they will notice the things about me that are attractive (facial features, curves, etc), which maybe the small girl their friend would have picked doesn't have.

So in conclusion: I generally agree, but I think that in the real world where most men aren't selecting between super models and plain girls, they'll go for 'the pretty one' but there will be certain factors in which they differ.

As a teenager there was no worse body fate then having a big butt where I grew up. It was considered ugly. A nice ass was slightly rounded but still tight in wasp land.

Today it seems butts are the new boobs, the desirable size now would be considered gross back then (in my culture).

Maybe some women actually believe men who tell them that they are beautiful and then think that men have varied taste? All men tell all women that they are beautiful if woman asks that but only anonymously or behind their backs tell the truth.

The good news is that as a woman, you don't have to be attractive to all men! Most women don't want 1,000 suitors anyway (unless they're cam girls and the guys are paying customers, lol). Most women want one man (or at most, a couple) with whom the attraction is mutual. And I'd think that's do-able for most of us!

I like fatter women so I believe i'm in 5% minority. Facially I probably like the same as most men - full lips, straight nose, big eyes, clear complexion.

Let's not leave out the racial/ethnic factor. If men really had an equal amount of variant tastes in women then that doesn't explain the study in which they discovered men (of all different races) are least attracted to black women. (Note: I've also read that this study showed that these same men were attracted to asian, white, and latina women which is one point that contradicts my post since there is a variety in racial preferences, but these same women of these ethnicities must have the mentioned traits above to be attractive to the majority of men).

Out of curiosity do you think the reason that most of these men are into whites/Asians/latinas aside from blacks because what society as a whole has presented as being attractive? And because what they are used to growing up with?

I find that many people who hung out with people only of their racial group less open to dating people outside their race or acceptable races. Ie. White and Asian couples.

African men obviously find black women attractive. Culturally, they are also attracted to thicker women as having more weight on you symbolized wealth.

But I also wonder what kind of pictures they are showing of black women. As black people have the most variety of looks than any other race. Ranging from Beyonce, Jorja Smith,Zoe Sandala, SZA, Gabrielle Union, Aysha Curry, Rhianna, Lupita, and I can go on that all identify with being black. Or are they showing them ghetto, poverty women from the states ?

Men have varied tastes = men will fuck just about anything.

Women take this to mean that men will go after specific ugly-ass women with odd traits and what LTR's with them. That's not what it means.

Men do have an ideal beauty standard (white skin, wide hips, big tits, clear skin, symmetrical face and high cheekbones). That doesn't mean they can't find other women attractive.

It doesn't mean they don't have types that are some variation of what I listed. It just means that 99% of men will find that kind of woman more attractive than other kinds. Men will fuck just about anything. They'll date a variety of women, but unless you are the single standard of beauty then don't expect to be the single look that your man is in to. Chances are, even when you're dating, there are women that you're man would consider to be more beautiful than you are.

So men ARE attracted to a wide variety of women, but that doesn't mean they think each woman they are attracted to is the epitome of beauty. It just means they think they're good looking enough to fuck.

yes, there is literal science on what is deemed ideal as far as being attractive, but most people who do not fit those standards (men and women) find people attracted to them. you don't have to fit the perfect mold to be beautiful to someone. sooo, what i'm saying is.. who cares?

Source on these studies? I find preferences to be cultural. An easy example of this is if you go to say xvideos and swap the region you see very different women. Based on that people seem to prefer their own race and there are oddities here and there like Indians seem to have a lot of "auntie" porn which seems like our* milf/mature/step mom porn.

Sure not every guy is a chubby chaser, and stating that most men have varying tastes does not mean most men like any woman. But I definitely like a range of them. Blonde, brunette, redhead, big tits, small tits, short, tall, black, white, asian, blah blah blah... I'll find them all attractive if they've got good faces and are not fat.

I do have my type, which is hot tattooed girls, but I also find all sorts of others attractive also.

And most guys are the same. We'll point out hot girls to each other when we're out and about. Tastes vary wildly but we all tend to agree they're attractive.

Ok, but how does being black, skinny, fat not allow for any of those universal preferences to be present? You can still be any race along with any level of body fat and still have those proportions/features. I guess the being old one could leave out the ample breast and youth preferences, but older women still could meet the other ones.

some people have specific niches that they like- like redheads or goth girls or skinny girls or curvy girls-

but all of these 'types' have to be attractive in the first place. they're just different variations of attractive women.

stacy with red hair, stacy with goth clothes, skinny stacy, hourglass stacy.

society does influence beauty 'trends', but the trends are always promoted by pretty people. the models and tv stars of the 90s. the instagram influencers and kylie jenners of today.

edit: i read one of the other comments, and i agree that some guys have strong preferences for things like blonde hair or petite girls that they'd put over dating an attractive girl that doesn't have those features. i guess in that case they would go for an average blonde over an attractive brunette. however, wouldn't they rather an attractive blonde than an average blonde?

The point usually is that variation in men's tastes is higher than in women's, not that men's tastes vary in almost-uniform distribution across the entire range of reality and slightly beyond.

The issue here is they have varying tastes in women, but not necessarily the variations that OP wants.

e.g. a woman with thinning hair who looks like a beach ball with legs.

There are also paraphiliac men who seek out certain things: a woman with gigantic great dirty honking milkers like that woman who knocks around with Dog the Bounty Hunter, or a woman with such gigantic hips and arse that they can only walk by doing a stulting, hip-swinging motion by throwing their hips circularly around.

Not easy to explain how a thin, waiflike woman like Kate Moss can be a sex symbol, an almost breastless woman, as can a meaty muscular woman like Serena Williams, if OP's statements are correct.

But then again, you know - OP is merely a woman, projecting her own self onto men. If there's a group with a very narrow band of what's hot, it's the female side of things. Athletic but not too muscly, jawline, slightly soft pretty look to the face, between six feet and six feet four in height.
