I disagree with a lot of the BS on TRP but I don't think it should have been banned; like you, I'm all for genuinely free speech, regardless of whether it matches my personal opinion or not.

Here's the thing - TRP works.

TRP getting shut down is a good thing. In the rotational ebb and flow of Red and Blue, it will add more to Red and swell their numbers. Most will see the act of censorship as a sign of validity. I'm hoping it becomes mainstream and this is their first step on that road.

Because if it goes mainstream, it'll get a purple slant to it. The ultimate goal is to get men to stop accepting fuck head behavior from women.

F assumes they ded. I think its an upgrade ready to happen.

I 'liked' r/TheRedPill because it was an exposé of gender dynamics that was otherwise taboo to discuss in mainstream channels. It genuinely taught me a lot.

I gave up browsing it long ago because I grew bored and jaded with the constant nonsense, and once you've 'got' it, it just gets tiresome and repetitive. Same old, same old.

Banning it? Hmmmmm... I'm guessing it was a pointed, legally protective move, not simply a matter of community tastes prevailing.

If it, as a forum, were fomenting (inciting?) real world violence, then, yeah, Reddit.com had an obligation to shut it down. Sorry, not sorry.

This is not censorship, this is the target audience of Reddit's request. They buy feminism, so Reddit sells it. If a weird miracle happens and the target audience of Reddit stops being dumb cucktards, Reddit will ban twoX, girls power or whatever else cesspool alike in three seconds literally. So, if you want to blame someone, it's not Reddit, it's not money, it's not capitalism, it's the aforementioned dumb cucktards.

On a side note, the West in general is moving towards censorship fast and that's very bad news for anybody who has a brain and wants to use it still.

This is a private business so I get that they have the right to do whatever. This kind of censorship doesn't seem just confined to reddit though.

I can't say I'm strong to the right or left, but there seems to have been a growing amount of censorship coming from the left's way for quite a while now. And it might be a coincidence but the two most memorable political events of the recent past have been Trump and Brexit.

There are quite a lot of angry, alienated people around and I think it might be time to figure out how to include them in the discourse.

Reddit is just one site where very specific people go to circlejerk quite often about things. Even the most arrogant subs like /r/justneckbeardthings who routinely insult redditors and reddit culture yet still represent reddit are guilty of that. Red pillers will be fine once they realize that this is just one site with specific policies and specific people, and once they realize that this is just one site, they will realize how much potential they have elsewhere.

What anyone besides the owner of the site thinks is irrelevant. I'd rather not live in a world where control of my property could be taken to better spread a message that stands to ruin my reputation. This is a private platform. TRP is still free to speak, they just have to do it someplace else.

I respect this post a lot. Reddit used to be all about freedom of speech, so much that even gone wild subs for teenagers being banned would draw outrage. It's sad to see how far the slippery slope has come and what is being labeled hate speech (aka "not my opionion" speech). Are there actual woman haters on TRP? Sure. But that's not the community. Similar to subs like TwoX. Let them talk, embrace conversation

Removal from mainstream site is more designed to limit viewership rather than silence out right. Opinions will go on, just less 14YO's with desperate teen crushes (So.Many.Kids. on TRP that think they are incels. Derp) or Divorcees at their lowest point will stumble upon it and get sucked in and think the language and tone is 'normal'.

Limiting exposure of fringe groups has 4 possible outcomes.

The group falls into obscurity and is never heard from again.
They continue to exist in a small corner of the internet.
They become violent. They become IRA, ISIS etc.
They elicit sympathy. They become The Suffrage, Mandela etc.

Censorship is pretty normal human behavior. Anything that's seen as a threat people treat it as such and have done forever. Ironically, It's a very liberal associated view that different opinions should be tolerated and understood rather than stamped out.

IMO censorship is only a problem when it's a government body censoring things. Private companies like Reddit are entirely within their rights to pick and choose who they do associate/do business with.

Having unpopular opinions has always taken an ability to stand against the crowd. People not liking what you say isn’t the same thing as censoring you. Reddit is allowed to say they’d rather this toxic shit not be discussed through the mouthpieces REDDIT created and owns. It’s their website, their call.

I’m so tired of this incel whining that they’re being oppressed. No one is oppressing assholes. Assholes are just getting whinier that they’re not allowed to asshole free of repercussions. Which is pretty much the same thing as saying a bully feels oppressed because they’re obstructed from bullying people freely. Like... poor you, no one wants to listen to you or be your friend, because your favorite past time is shitting on them? No wonder these people struggle to get dates and think it’s “oppression” when women say No to them. Apparently anything short of giving them what they want is abuse.
