I would absolutely choose to keep my emotions and need for sex. These things are a part of me, not something foisted upon me without permission. To get rid of them would be a partial death, a dismemberment, a zombification of my personality. If this was the world of His Dark Materials, you'd essentially be saying it's perfectly fine to severe your dæmon's connection to you...that was the single most terrifying thing in that series for me.

I recently did 3 weeks of alternate day fasting with very low calorie and low carb on feed days in hopes of losing some weight I put on during the holidays.

An unexpected side effect of the diet was that about a week in I completely lost my sex drive. I felt no desire to even look at women in pictures.

It scared me when i first noticed that I hadn't had an erection in days but i kept on with the diet and found that the lack of a sex drive made me a more productive person. I started doing things i had been putting off for a long time cuz i was always lazy.

Women became non existent to me. I didn't think about them at all.

Idk what the restriction of food did to me inside but It was an interesting experience.

If there was a way to remove your sex drive for good without hurting anything else i would consider it..

Definitely not. I literally explained this to a girl once: For me, the goal is to want something really bad, and then get it, and that's the catch-22 of feeling desperate: Nothing could be better than getting there when you're feeling desperate, but it's never harder to get there than when you are feeling desperate. But to lose that yearning entirely completely defeats the purpose and is something I would never want. I actually do the opposite, and try to never forget teenage me who thought sex with girls seemed like the most amazing prospect in the universe.

If I could choose, I would choose to be more "biologically evolved," I guess, if those were the only two choices being given.

I think that development of science will give to humans very soon an medical option to remove their feelings and sexual desires, while possibility of transfer of human consciousness into immortal robotic bodies will be probably also possible in not so distant future.

Seeing as how we are destroying our own planet, this might be the only chance we have of surviving anywhere else, but I hope this doesn't become a thing for obvious reasons.

I wouldn't want to lose all my feelings. At that point i'd rather just fucking kill myself, it's basically the same exact thing. If I could choose to just lose the desire for sex and intimacy I would totally go for it because i'm not getting that anyways, but losing all feelings? I don't see why would you ever want that.

Well without emotion consciousness would be basically a blinking cursor without any input.

Thought about it as a coping strategy for dialing back options from suicide to less extreme measures (and then still less extreme than this) back when the depression was real bad/unhandled. Not anymore or for some time now though.

I would choose to be what I am now. A normal human being who interacts with healthy-minded people who don't spend their time jerking off to science fiction porn.

I would choose the second option because human life would be much better without feelings and sexual desires - in such case humans would have much more time to dedicate to constructive activities instead and our civilization would colonize galaxy much faster.

I can attest to not having a need for sex and romance.

I’ve never needed either. Been happily single for a good 15 years or so now. Had some sex within that time, but the last time was probably about 10 years ago. Masturbation is just fine by me, and relationships tend to be more trouble than they’re worth in my eyes.

I know I’m not the only one of my kind either. There are people out there who don’t have a need for sex or relationships—I’ve met some of them. It can be nice, not being bothered by what is the primary source of distress for many people. I often watch other people deal with relationship problems with some bemusement. I know other people have a greater need for this sort of thing than me, so I don’t judge them, but I do sometimes feel bad for them. They’re a big source of stress, relationships.

I expect I’ll settle down if the right woman comes along, but I don’t expect that to happen. I’m fairly picky, and don’t have the motivation to go out and look for her.

I really wish i had an on/off switch for my sex drive. Its great having a sex drive when it's satisfied, but having an unsatisfied sex drive is a massive source of stress and sadness in my life.

Right now is a good example. Grad school is depressing the hell out of me and taking up all my time and energy. When i get depressed, i have a 0% chance of attracting women. Even women I've slept with before. Depression and low confidence dessicate vaginas, and it can create a vicious cycle. I wish i could switch off my desire for sex and affection at the moment because their absence tends to worsen my mental state.

Love, sex and gender account for 90% of the worlds problems.

I'm actually okay with the idea of replacing the human species with genetically engineered babies that are all female. Let the sex and love and misery die out in 100 years.

Note, I'm not saying exterminate all men... Just don't create any new men. If modern society falls, so be it. It'll be whatever society the women have decided is good.
