When any human attacks you, in my opinion, equal and opposite force is justified. If a girl only lightly damages you, 'putting her in the hospital' is overkill in response to that. Anyone should have the presence of mind to moderate their use of force on others.

Generally I think physical violence should be one's last resort. But in the moment I have no issue with someone defending themselves from an aggressor, male or female. Just don't go overboard.

Exactly what my friend did when attacked violently by his ex-wife: call the cops. Lock yourself in your car in the driveway. Stay on the phone with the cops, letting them hear her through the window.

She got arrested and charged, he went to a lawyer the next day.

I have trouble believing that she would have attacked him at all if she had the slightest fear of retaliation.

You would be surprised. A very good friend of mine is 6'3, muscled, and a boxer. He's just a BIG dude - he dwarfs every other guy in almost every room he's in. If not by height, definitely by size.

The amount of overcompensating little guys who try to pick fights with him while we're out is amazing. Thank god this dude is super laid back and fun, because he can typically disarm the situation before it comes to blows.

But guys who have no business fucking with him, fuck with him all the time. People really don't think things through logically.

I don't know the specifics, but things got a little heated in one corner of the party, and a girl hit a guy in the nose and he started to bleed. She would have kept swinging, but someone else nearby was smart enough to grab her in a bear hug until she calmed down.

People should be smarter. Girls shouldn't be attacking guys who are bigger than them. White knights shouldn't run in to be Captain Save-A-Ho. no, she shouldn't have attacked him. that was obviously dumb, and she should face consequences for it. having someone twice her size and strength slug her back isn't anything but a revenge or drama fantasy though. certainly not a good solution, barring extremes or cases where there isn't another option. asking for reasonable behavior or reactions from someone who's super wasted is pretty foolish too, tbh.

I think I handled it well in my really bad breakup. I turned my GoPro on and left it in the corner of the room for evidence that I did nothing wrong, and then I restrained her without causing injury until she calmed down and her dad got there.

Never engage with a woman in the good ole USA. If someone is getting physical just walk away. Even if you both get caught 8 times out of 10 you will get blamed. And if it goes to court she'll get off and you will go to jail.

Few years ago some belligerent black girls were throwing their drinks at men. One came at me, I could've thrown mine back at them but I just got them thrown out of the bar. No reason trying to fight a trouble making woman.

The girl hit him first, and yes he responded with disproportionate force, but he was tarred and feathered for it. Nobody seems to remember that Ray Rice's fiancee was actually hitting him before he went Mike Tyson with the titanic left hand. Yes, in both of those cases, they responded with way too much force, but (a) much like when someone breaks into your home and you own a weapon for home defense, there is no humane shot to where you can immobilize them, you go for the kill shot and (b) nobody even mentions that the women were the aggressors in these cases.

Personally, I say retreat, get anything you can on video, and if you're cornered and she doesn't appear to be a mortal threat, take it. Just get cut and bruised, take the assault to your body head on. Let it happen.

The only possible place a man can even attempt to win against assault by a woman is in court, preferably with video evidence. Any attempts at self defense can come back to bite you hard.

Duck. Block. Draw her near any recording equipment. Make sure that her mug is on it for several shots. Then draw her towards a crowd. They will laugh at you. That is fine. They will naturally assume that you did something to deserve it.

Next, depending on how drunk she is, duck quickly in a way that causes her to punch a wall and break her hand. Variants could be - block her blow with a hard object.

Avoid getting the cops involved if you can help it. They will likely arrest you (men reporting domestic abuse are the ones usually arrested). Yes, you will get released but not before she has made it all about you. God knows, NOW might even give her a woman of courage award.

If she still keeps going, run away. Next day, get the video footage, doctor's report on your injuries, and file an attempted murder complaint. And don't drop them upon the cops' insistence. Get a decent, preferably female, lawyer to advise you.

She needs to croak in court. It is important to get her legally recorded as being in the wrong for the assault, no matter how hard it is for courts to set aside their gynocentric attitudes. They will likely not punish her, but it will get on her record. That will help the next poor sap she assaults.

Further, insist that the proceedings be a part of public record. Once the official record becomes available, put it on social media, so that she can't make up any stories regarding you (she will).

If someone starts hitting me I'll hit back regardless of what's between their legs. There are self-defence laws that will protect you if only necessary force is used. Getting a video recording if possible as others have stated is also very good advice.

I'm not worried about white knights because I don't hang around with faggots.

This is a horrible situation and shouldn't have happened - women should be very well aware that hitting a man is absolutely stupid and could get them seriously injured. They also, like men, should be taught that hitting people is really never justified and is a cowardly way of expressing yourself.

What should a man do in this situation? Well it depends on his physical superiority over the woman. Generally a man is going to be significantly stronger, but not always. If he's small and she's big, then he should do whatever he needs to to stop the attack. For me, if a man is bigger and stronger than his attacker (male or female), then he has to be very careful how he reacts. People can be badly injured or killed by a single punch - they can fall back and hit their heads, etc, especially when drunk. You don't want to end up in prison for manslaughter or grievous bodily harm because you used your fists when you maybe had other options. If others are around, then hopefully they will help to restrain the woman, as happened in this case. If you're on your own, then I would say you need to restrain her as best you can - grab her hands/wrists and pin her against something, she's unlikely to be able to break your grip. Worst case scenario, grab her by the throat - that would freak anyone out of a state of temporary insanity! Then call the police - don't brush it off as nothing because she's a woman, it's assault and should be treated seriously.

IMO, beating someone up (meaning continuing to hit them when they are already controlled) is never justified and is a good way of getting yourself in deep trouble. Punching a woman is likely to cause her more injury than she caused you and will also likely get you in a lot of trouble and little sympathy from others. I'm not saying women should be able to hit men and get away with it, simply that most men's physical superiority gives them the advantage and the chance to end her attack without hurting her. Then she should be reported to the police.

It's called "reasonable force" and should be used to defend yourself from any attack, regardless of your own gender or the attacker's. If somebody slaps you across the face, you don't lay them out with a sucker punch. You either run, or use just enough force to immobilize them/stop the attack.

If you're down south, most of the cops haven't had their balls clipped by feminist laws and will ACTUALLY assess the situation to determine who the agressor was. I'm sorry to say this but there is not much you can do in that situation. And anyways we shouldn't be focusing on forcing the victim to defuse the situation and more focused on teaching people its not funny or ok when a girl goes ape shit and decides to beat up on a guy.

Obviously do similar things you would do when dealing with an angry dude trying to fight you. Disengage, try to make sure there is physical space between you and that person. Try to get people aware of whats going on so they can get help. But with a culture that tries to rationalize female on male violence you also have to be aware of the fact many people might think you started it and will victim blame.

In all honesty it shouldn't be your responsibility to defuse the situation and I'm sorry it is. We need to stop encouraging a nonchalant attitude towards female on male violence and encourage police, security, teachers, anyone who has the authority to step in and make arrests or punishments to treat the aggressive women in the situation as someone who is acting violent and terrible.
