So, there's been a bit of discussion recently on the PPD about ''The Wall'', or, in other words, noticeable physical ageing in women.

As long as your physical features aren't noticeably asymmetrical or busted, then the only things which influence your physical attractiveness are body fat, skin quality, and hair quality. A 65-year-old woman, for example, is sexually invisible (unless you're into GILFs :p), even though she still possesses the 10/10 facial proportions which made her a beauty queen in her 20s.

We can discount body fat from the equation, as this is potentially controllable and clearly affects men and women equally.

Skin quality is something which also degrades pretty evenly amongst men and women, as they get older.

Hair quality, however, is something where women have a huge advantage over men, as they age. Baldness is a very sexually off-putting trait, and one third of men are noticeably balding when they hit 30. And that's just noticeably. In addition, men go grey - on average - 5 years earlier than women do.

So, women have the advantage over men as they age, because deterioration in hair quality is a far bigger blow to the average man.

What's even worse for men, as they age, is the fact that it's socially acceptable for women to artificially modify their skin and hair with beauty products, to somewhat hide the negative affects of ageing.
