Take anything and there's a silver lining or positive that most people would agree with. What's the most horrible thing you can think of? Nazism? Hey at least they stood firm against Communism! As I always say, there is indeed a kernel of truth behind a lot of RP ideas. It is false and naive to think those who disagree with TRP think every last idea that has been presented as RP ideology is 100%, unequivocally wrong.

The way ideas are presented: their wording, their phrasing, the tone, the intent behind all of those things, can create nuance and even bigger discrepancies within same or similar premises. If this were not the case, the fields of law, philosophy, rhetoric, would not exist.

Maybe these particular things applied to the women you were talking with. Ask different women and you'll get different responses, as you see here. Because neither women nor men are all the same sexually or romantically. Individual difference is far greater than gender difference, and any ideology that attempts to tell you how all members of a certain group think is almost certainly wrong. For me personally:

I have varied between both. Atm, if I was single, I think I would prefer quality, but when I was younger I would have been less picky about flings. My SO, on the other hand, was extremely picky as a teenager.
I don't really get what this means. At one point, I would have been game for one night stands with douchey guys, if that's what you mean, whereas obviously for a relationship you want a kind, loyal person. Looks are less important to me than most people.
Whether or not other girls like a guy has no impact on whether I like him.

So there you go. Women are not all the same, no matter how ideas are presented.

Hypergamy is usually expressed by TRP as the woman will leave any man at the drop of a hat, irregardless of any honor (which she has none of), commitment (which she can't have by nature), or morality (she'll just rationalize it away) as soon as a guy with bigger mussels comes around.

My criticism of TRP is based on the anti-woman sentiment in the sub, not on the dating advice. TRP may give incomplete, or slightly bad dating advice, but most of it isn't objectionable.

It's this shit that I (and many others) hate:

I have zero problem with dating advice and how to get laid. I also have zero problem pointing out common behavior in the dating scene (which can be a gauntlet for any single person). So when you rephrase TRP to remove the overt women-hatred, much of it does come off as sound advice.

Which leaves me to ask; why include the 'women are inferior' attitude at all? Is it there solely to justify the bullying and emotional abuse inherent in a subset of TRP tactics? Is it only OK to employ negging or say '[c]ontrary to feminist sloganeering, no doesn't always mean no," when you dehumanize women first? Do you have to make them lesser creatures in your mind to justify using some of the morally objectionable tactics?

Is the implied message, "it's OK, they don't feel pain the same way?" Or, "it's OK, they're all bad, so anything you do to them is justified?" Because that's how it looks to outsiders.

So again, it's not the dating content of the sub that I dislike. It's the put-downs, bullying, and abusive undertone that has infected everything said in the TRP ideology.

If you talk to a group of men using positive language, I'm sure they'll also agree that they like partners who meet their standards, that they might have sex with hot, unstable girls but wouldn't marry them, and that they enjoy going out with a girl other guys envy. It's not a lady-specific thing.

A huge chunk of RP rhetoric is just taking stuff most humans do and rephrasing it in a way that glorifies men and demonizes women. Men wisely go for "high SMV," while women are stupidly "hypergamous." Men "next," which is cool, while women "branch-swing," which is animalistic. Men who have lots of sex are "alphas," women who have lots of sex are "sluts." Men's sex drives are important and serious business, while women are mocked for having silly "tingles."

You lap up this flattery without question when it's aimed at you, so why is it surprising that the same approach works on other people?

yes, but only when we are talking about sex. if we are talking about LTR, then both parties look for quality.
sometimes. most girls would also like to settle down with someone hot and charming. i would rather phrase it as: girls can be pickier for ONS than guys can because they have more options, but when it comes to LTR they have the same limited options as men, and therefor must compromise because they can't get everything they want.
looking up to people that are liked by others isn't something exclusive to or even more heavily represented among women. just my personal opinion, but i wouldn't go for the person every likes - seems like waaay too much work. and anyone that had the attitude that i should be appreciative of them choosing me over all their other options doesn't see me as an equal and wouldn't be someone i'm interested in.
