Basically what the title says. Illinois, and 16 other states, have passed "Revenge Porn" laws, criminalizing the internet publication of nude pictures that were snapped/shot with the subjects consent, but later posted online without the subject's consent.

Now, I already see the BP man-shaming language coming, so feel free to post it although I can already predictably see it.

I'm not calling into question the depravity of the man who posts such pictures. He's a complete asshole for doing something so vile, he obviously has no regard for the feelings, reputation, or consequences this will have on his ex-girlfriend/plate/whatever...

...but, then again, you chose to sleep with him, ladies. You chose to open your legs and accept the penis of a man without vetting out his true nature, his true personality, or what sort of shit he is capable of doing.

So you make the bad decision to consentually allow a man like this to photograph you bobbing for apples on his cock or you in doggy position ramming your head into the bedpost like it's your job, then he posts it to a private FB forum later, and now you want to run to the law to cover for your bad choices in whom you fuck and allow video/photograph you fucking.

This is, of course, yet another in the long list of tacit legal admissions that women lack agency and need to be protected from the consequences of their bad decisions, not unlike the way we protect children. It's like, how in the hell can women not know that in the year 2015, literally anything captured on a digital camera can wind up on the internet within minutes of that film being shot?

And PS - save the "but it protects men too" argument. We all know who pushes these laws, and we all know that it isn't men.

This kid in California just got 18 YEARS for operating a website that had nude pics on it. As the predictable replies keep rolling in on "good fuck these guys, punish them, send them to prison, etc"...not for anything, there are child rapists who don't get that much time.
