I was having lunch with my father the other day and the subject of women came up. He has been married for 33 years to the same woman, my mother. We started discussing just how woman act and behave today in society as opposed to 30-50 years ago. How their "emancipation" has left them completely without any social restraint. He then said something I didn't expect from him. "I have no interest in modern women or even women at all. Yeah I'm married to your mother and I'm happy with her and I wouldn't change it but they have nothing to add to my life." I completely knew what he was talking out. With the exception of sex, there is very little about women I actually care about listening to. Their interests, attitudes, behaviors are all very shallow and egocentric. His interests seem to go over their heads and he finds no benefit in having any sort of friendship with them and wouldn't even if he was single. The friendships and relationships he values the most are male friends whom he can have deep intellectual discussions with.

I feel the same way about women today. I've tried to "open up" in the past and have deep intellectual conversations, but it's always just turned into me talking and them looking for any way to change the topic back to more important things like parties, clubs, and pop culture. I don't even bother and just use them for what men can't provide me with: sexual release. Everything else I'd rather do with my group of guy friends.
