In my experience in the kink/BDSM world, it seems anecdotally that the overwhelming majority of straight women identify as submissive to men. I would say over 85% of all profiles I come across on Fetlife are like this. (Women who like to dominate men and who don't do it for money are exceedingly rare, maybe 5%).

The few studies I could find support this. According to Wikipedia, "A 1995 study indicates that 89% of heterosexual females who are active in BDSM expressed a preference for a submissive-recipient role in sexual bondage, suggesting also a preference for a dominant male".

Now that's women in the BDSM community, who have the freedom to be totally honest because they've already identified as being in a "taboo" community. But how about "regular" women?

We know how hugely popular 50 Shades of Grey was, and if you know anything about BDSM/Kink, you'd know that real life is not like the book/movie in most cases. That said, it sparked a more publicly honest discussion about the dynamic. A 2014 Cosmo survey found "nearly 65 percent of women reported fantasies about sexual submission" but "about half of women whose favorite fantasies involved submission said they wouldn't want to actually act it out."

What does this mean? I think it reflects the following - that when more free to be honest with themselves about their sexuality, a significant majority of hetero women will admit they wish to be dominated by a man sexually to some degree or in some capacity. This does not automatically mean tied up and beaten with objects. Wiki says "The term female submission most commonly refers to a woman who derives sexual pleasure or emotional gratification from relinquishing (to varying degrees) control to (as well as satisfying) a trusted dominant partner", and that definition is pretty good.

Why Should PPD Care

Because my theory is that TRP is imprecise and thus inaccurate when it claims women have rape fantasies. Most don't. Most do, however, fantasize about "giving" their total sexual selves to a man they crave on a physical and psycho-emotional level, one who appears to have the body and balls to fuck them the way they've always dreamed of, but who also has a kind heart, and well functioning mind that attracts them as much as his body.

Conclusion

TRP is right church/wrong pew about what women want from males sexually. Women don't (generally) want to be raped; they (generally) want to be "taken" by a man they've "given" themselves to because everything about that man makes everything about them melt. If TRP articulated their points better, perhaps more would agree with their basic tenets and less outrage porn would be generated.

Disclaimer

Sexually submissive does not mean the woman is always submissive. Fun anecdotal "fact", women who are high-powered dominant types in their work/home lives are often the ones craving sexual domination the most.

Submission does not mean weakness; it means what the Wiki said - balance of control/power which must be given.

True submission is earned by the Dom and given by the sub, and can always be taken away. There is nothing forced.
