Last three ex's I've broken up with and they have either stalked or harassed me until I got restraining orders or threatened legal action. Men step over boundaries all the time. They feel entitled to own us and when we say no then it causes them to go bonkers. "Their toy won't behave". It now scares me to get involved with men, even those I date who seem high value during the relationship turn awful after a breakup.

There was a somewhat similar post yesterday on a different sub. Of course, some dude comes out of the woodwork with the brilliant advice that women should pay attention to their gut, get over their need to be nice, and tell men no if they are uncomfortable or not interested in dating.

I’m immigrating soon. A doctor asked me out for a walk recently (I go hiking a lot and had some pictures in my Instagram he’d seen). I said yeah I’ll show him some nice places to visit. He said he’d enjoy just looking at my ass. I said I’m not attracted to him, I don’t want a relationship as I’m moving after lockdown. He said he didn’t see the point in a short term friendship and blocked me. Like totally fine with having sex with me before I go but not being friends... anyway he blocked me, unblocked me to tell me he was angry at me as I’d “led him on”. Such a jerk. It’s lose lose.

I didn't get stabbed, instead he punched and kick me on the bus ride home from high school. (24 years ago). it happens and becomes a domino affect later on if the right therapy and support group isn't put in place.

Not nearly the same situation but I’ve literally had a man call me a whore after refusing sex on our first date in his work truck. I’m guessing his reasoning was “I buy a six-pack and restaurant chips and salsa, I’m guaranteed a lay”.

An ex of mine that I’d ended things with (before he was ready, because we’d been together FIVE WEEKS and he said he loved me? I told him it was too much for me and cut him off.) actually assaulted me at work one night, under the cameras that we both knew were on me. We worked together at a nightclub, and he had the audacity to barge into the small room I was working in ALONE, and corner me, push me into a wall, and tell me it was my fault that he’d fallen in love with me; he was assaulting me because I didn’t reciprocate his feelings, but I’d definitely created those feelings for him. I’m sorry, what?

I don’t have nearly enough middle fingers to properly express my distaste for such creatures...and I don’t let pride overtake logic to the point wherein I’d be willing to risk punitive action or otherwise due to my attacking another human being. Funny how we can show such restraint but the smallest thing makes a weakass animal downright insane. Cyclical “toxic masculinity” at its finest.
