Whenever a guy says he doesn’t like drama it reminds me of that episode of The Office where Andy and Erin are keeping their relationship secret because “we hate drama!!” but they end up being completely dramatic about it because they both actually love drama lol.

I personally left-swipe, block, and unmatch any men who use negative language in their profiles, such as:

"No drama"

"No fat chicks"

"No single moms/waitresses/strippers/etc.etc."

"just seeing what's out there".

Their profiles typically reek of arrogance, entitlement, assholery, and a lack of ambition. These men have typically been worshipped by a PICKME and is actively trying to attract one. Men who put active, globally aimed negs onto their profiles will bombard you with these same negs, and backhanded compliments in person.

You want men who have been humbled. A man who has been humbled will chase you and put effort into his profile, so that when you read it, it's interesting. He actively tries to persuade you to date him, not try to make it seem like he's drowning in pussy and has too many women.

When I see “no drama” I read it as “if you ever try to call out my bullshit or unacceptable behavior I will write you off as being dramatic and give you the silent treatment.”

Yup, that's how I see it too. Also usually these men are very impatient and bad at communications, they don't like to talk about any issues in a relationship like mature adults.

Along with all the great responses to this thread, I'd also like to add it's their way of saying they don't want a commitment or emotional attachment. They want drama free (read commitment and emotion free) sex and interaction.

Any woman bringing emotion into the mix, even positive emotional depth, is just drama in their eyes.

It's never a good sign so I always immediately swipe left.

I agree. I always swipe left on dudes that say, “No drama.” I strongly believe that a man brings on “drama” from women because he isn’t treating her the way she deserves, and she decides to speak up about it.

Yes! Also, "no drama" can also mean he will be fair-weather and get annoyed/unsupportive if you have an actual upsetting thing happen to you. Like "good vibes only."

Absolutely!

These men expect you to maintain the status quo. They're not proactive communicators. They will fight and blame you when you hold them accountable. A real HVM works with you to solve relationship problems because he knows you're not going to stick around for a bad deal.

ANY person putting “no drama” or similar sentiments ANYWHERE on the web tells you a few things: 1. They fucking LOVE drama - they will turn the tiniest inconvenience into an absolute catastrophe and 2. You as a partner/friend/whatever don’t get to have problems because Mr. HatesDrama has the corner on that and 3. You don’t want them around when the shit hits the fan as they will take your miserable day and do whatever they can to make it that much worse and 4. They’ll probably take your best day and try to shit on that as well.

Literally anybody who says things like I don’t do drama, I don’t play games, I don’t want a gold digger, I’m not going to be your kid’s dad, I’m a good guy but I have an asshole sense of humor... these are all big ol red flags. When you have that much negativity in your dating profile, which is your way of introducing yourself, that just tells me all I need to know.

I tend to interpret that as code for, "I expect you to have no needs, demands or boundaries. Don't ask me for anything or be act like a real person." But you're probably right in a more nuanced way.

I’ve seen this used in a lot of job ads too. “Looking for a no drama employee”

Pass on those jobs as there WILL be drama from whoever wrote the ad lol
