I haven’t watched all the new eps.

But I thought Jess and Barn were such a perfect example of how FDS works.

Barn was obsessed with Jess when he knew he was competing with Mark. You could see him visibly stressed and telling the other guys that Jess is the one that he wants over all of the girls.

Next date with Jess, he’s upset about all the guys interested in her and they talk about it (where she points out that she hears stuff about him from the other girls too) and he says how he’s ready to propose, blah blah.

She tells him that she will cut off all the other guys/Mark because she’s all about him.. totally soothing his ego and laying all her cards out.

THE NEXT DAY, after she tells Mark that she doesn’t think they will work, Barn basically dumps her. The literal day after she says that she’ll get rid of all the other guys.

I would also like to point out how (now that he’s with Amber) whenever someone asks him why he wants to get married or why he chose Amber, it is ALWAYS about how she makes HIM feel.

“She makes me feel good.” “She’s always weird like me.” “She was so into me in the pods and I loved it.”

He never says anything about her as a person. Because she could be literally any of the girls. She’s basically a mannequin and could be anyone so long as they keep making him feel good.

She’s too dumb to realize it because, frankly, she didn’t want Barn so much as she wanted to win over all the other girls that wanted him to prove that she’s the coolest of the “cool girls”

no, but i'm starting to watch it now. the first couple talked about how they both like the Bears and it cut to her saying, "I can't believe I've already found someone I clicked with so well!" girl calm down millions of people like the bears

I just binged it yesterday. It’s disaster after disaster. I love(hate) Amber because since the beginning she wants to play it as “I’m one of the guys, I’m so cool.” Her and Jessica are my favorite burning trash in the series. Jessica, or Messica, as someone calls her because she’s such a messy drunk, is the worst though as such an “empowered” woman that goes for that is absolutely obsessed with the guy that straight up told her he doesn’t want her, settles for easy, and is now going insane. CANT STOP WATCHING. Don’t even get me started on Diamond’s “fiance.”

I've started watching it today and they are all so horrible. I could get into Jessica and Barnett and Mark and the rest of the messes, the claiming to be in love and want kids after a week etc. But the Goddess hasn't given me enough strength for that shit today.

I will only say I laughed out LOUD when that guy Carlton said he was bisexual, but that he wants to be with a woman because women are nurturing and he feels he can't get that from a man. I was like, HA...he wants a mommy maid! I see it. Then he throws the tantrum. Tells this woman who he supposedly wanted to marry something to the effect of "That's why I don't fuck with bitches like you". And as she's angrily storming off, he yells that her wig is slipping. I- And as if he wasn't embarrassing enough, he's wearing a snapback that says "Daddy" on it.

Also, Jessica. No one cares that he's 10 years younger than you. NO ONE. Not one human. Shut up and drink your wine.

I'm obssessed with this show lol and at the same time I can't stand anyone on it. The girls are almost all pickmes except for Lauren and Kelly maybe. Cameron is the only HVM there in my opinion.

I’m currently on episode 3 and I am CRINGING. there are some people I like on that show, basically ONE COUPLE, but the rest are insane. (The couple I like so far is the interracial one, I forgot their names but they seem drama free and nice to each other).

Yea I'm not keen on the show. It doesn't really align with good/safe dating practice or the principles. The lack of vetting, not taking time to get to know a potential partner, not leaving their options open (although this could be editing), and falling for someone hard within in a space of short space of time (5 days, and 2 "dates" for one couple!) made me cringe. Essentially, this felt like fast-forwarding which potentially lead someone into being tricked into a relationship or the true nature of who they are dating and in this case marrying (!!!!).

Lauren and Cameron seem to have the greatest potential (yes, I got a little giddy and starry-eyed in the beginning, but that changed after watching a couple of episodes), but all the things stated above can be applied to them too. When Cameron talked about the problems their kids may have regarding racism (which I loved), it blew my mind when he paused and was like "You want kids, right?" I switched off. You guys are engaged! You should know this answer to this before the proposal of marriage lol
