I watched an entire video of how Amber Heard is essentially Amy Dunne from Gone Girl.

This certainly isn't a positive example of an age gap. She successfully defamed him.

People become less attractive as they age and it should be common sense that younger beautiful women only go for older less attractive men if they compensate their lack of attractiveness with money and status.

As for Heard and Depp, they're celebrities about whose lives we know much less than we think we do. We know Heard was abusive, but we don't know what are her motivations. Her case is very extreme and doesn't represent the average couple with marital problems.

What you really should have learned from that is this. Men are assumed guilty. Even when men are proven not guilty, it will still screw his career. Even when it comes out that she lied, she still is on the ACLU top 100 list and still represents domestic abuse victims at the UN.

That’s all you need to know. What you should have learned can be summed up as: pay more freaking attention to how women can destroy your life than how the can improve it.

Don’t like this? Put her ass in jail, change the laws, and stop treating predators are victims because they have tits.

She was attracted to him physically somewhat but at the end of the day, if he was Johnny Depp the car salesman in Utah, he wouldn't be getting hot young women acting crazy for him.

But since this is PPD and all the men swear up and down they're 45 and have 18yr olds breaking down their doors, perhaps I am wrong.

What a smart man will do in this situation is present himself as not struggling financially, but also not obviously rich.

If he is too well known to do this (Depp or any other celebrity) it then becomes really hit and miss.

Depends. I have seen women lust over 30-39 year olds while making fun of 50 year old men. Imo men in their 30's have realistic chances with 20 year old women due to peak of looks and status.

I think she was attracted to his character in Rum Diary where she acted opposite him.

I can see how playing up chemistry for that role maybe led to real chemistry.

He started aging more rapidly after that movie. Within a year of them dating their age gap looked more apparent to me.

Also she’s always had a screw loose. I had a crush on her back when she was dating her ex girlfriend but even Tasya has had a few cray interactions with her.

But I don’t know Johnny or Amber IRL. I always assumed Johnny was odd and had some quirks and dated odd quirky women, albeit beautiful women.

I wonder why his French ex of many years left. I also wonder if they didn’t marry because she was a French free spirit who didn’t believe in it or something.

A lot of older guys don't care as long as they are getting regular sex and companionship. If the older guy is paying less than what he'd pay an escort for consistent sex and companionship then in his mind he's getting a good deal.

Who has the power in an age gap relationship really depends on the ages in question. Like in a relationship between a 20 and a 40 yr old, the 40 yr old has the upper hand and can easily manipulate the younger person because they are relatively inexperienced and their brain isn’t even fully developed. However, when the younger person is closer to 30 and the older closer to 50, as in Heard and Depp’s case, the dynamic can start to shift. The younger person is now old enough to be savvy, and the older might be a little delusional about their actual SMV and the younger person’s reasons for wanting to be with them. This is going to be even more pronounced the older you get, until it becomes almost certain that an elderly person is being used for their money if someone younger wants to date them.

Now in Depp’s case, I’m sure there are younger women who would genuinely want to date him. Amber just happened to be a really shitty person. I don’t blame Depp for what happened and never would blame a victim, but I do think he was dumb to leave his long-term relationship for her.
