Went on my first date since I found FDS. Met this man through OLD. He was charming and attentive through the app but I tried limiting the messaging so I could reserve judgement until we met.

We had a date yesterday afternoon, first physical impression of him was okay, mainly due to his outfit (1 orange flag)

But he was still charming and witty, conversation flowed with no awkwardness which was a tentative plus.

Then after the meal, which he paid for, we went on a brief walk and then he showed his biggest red flag, by sneakily trying to push the intimacy card. He started listing all the good things we had in common: Similar cultural background, love of books and music and similar careers. Then he said: "but any relationship is like a 3 wheeled car without one major factor: intimate connection. We're not teens anymore, so this is something that should be happening sooner rather than later for this to work"

Here's why I am grateful for FDS! All throughout his womp-wompy monologue, I had this smirk on my face like dude, I know what you're doing. It ain't gonna work. Then instead of responding (like I used to) with why I think it's better to take it slow and that sex doesn't mean intimacy and emotional connection bla bla, I just smiled at him and said: "oh yeah, I see what you mean".

Ended a date with a thank you, a hug and off I went. He doesn't deserve to hear my pov, he doesn't deserve my energy.

Grateful for all of you ladies and grateful for FDS πŸ’—

UPDATE: Thank you ladies 😍 I love all your responses and it truly makes me happy that we have this space, where we are completely validated!! Before FDS I would have second guessed myself and given him more dates.

To confirm, yes, I promptly blocked!

As for his outfit, it was not horrendous, he was wearing a polo and business casual pants, but with running sneakers. It mildly put me off lol
