Went to my ex's house today. She wasn't there, but I was supposed to be there to let my kids check on their cats. I found a book left conveniently out in the open about "healing from narcissistic abuse" and I'm a little shaken.

When I got home I did some googling because, if I was a narcissistic abuser, I want to know about it. It's an ugly set of traits/behaviors and I don't want that to be who I am.

As I got more into reading stuff I started to notice that actually a lot of it fits with the way she operated within the relationship. Is it common for narcissiists to project narcissism on their victims? Am I a narcissistic abuser and I just can't see it? I don't know what to believe anymore. I'm going to ask my therapist to give me an assessment, but damn, my brain is fried with all this shit.

This whole experience has been crazy and it's getting worse all the time. My ex suddenly decided she "belongs" in another state and wants to move the kids. I know I isn't possible without my consent, but it won't stop her from making my life hell and spending the next year working to discredit me as a parent so she can just have sole custody (50/50 for now). I have a good lawyer, but damn this shit gets old. It's always something.

I can't move on with my life because she's always changing things that affect me financially, or I have to pick up a kid when she can't figure out how to de-escalate a conflict. 12 years until my youngest is an adult. It's going to be a looooong haul.
