A bit of context:

Man posts in a subreddit (that should know better) saying that he believes he was raped by a woman he was not romantically or sexually interested in. She invites him over, there's some alcohol involved -- next thing he knows, he's being straddled and she manages to get him to completion twice. Has pieces of memory but not everything (possibly drugged). His friends are discouraging him from reporting it to police. He's looking for some perspective and many comments are claiming that -- because he was aroused and and ejaculated twice -- it's not rape. Why? Because if he wasn't enjoying it, he wouldn't have gotten hard....

Now, I didn't argue the validity of OP's claims but to say that a man "clearly wanted it" for no other reason than he had an erection and managed to cum twice is not evidence of consent. I'm just completely disgusted at this. Never would this happen had OP been a female. I'm gonna stop now before I go on another rant. It's just heartbreaking to see how potential male rape victims are treated by society. What the fuck is wrong with people....

In this day and age if you're a woman, sober, and aren't continuously giving consent with clear "yes, I do want it" throughout the entire intercourse or you change your mind later, you were raped. If you have 0.001% alcohol or drug (even a legal one or medicine) in your bloodstream, you can only be raped.

Of course nothing similar, not even partially applies to men, especially drunk, men should be happy they got some. /s

I do agree though that the word rape was cheapened, it was redefined to the point that everything is rape from a certain point of view in certain cases. Okay but can we take a moment to salute the woman who confronted the man about it.
