Always have to love how when it benefits them a child is a mutual product for which both parents bear responsibility, but when it is inconvenient... well it is their body of which that child is a product and Men should have no input on the matter. No. Women behaving like men is squarely a tenant of third wave feminism. It comes from the fallacy that if men and women are equal then they are the same. If they are the same then they should want the same things and behave similarly. Especially when it comes to "empowering" activities like having sex.

The net result is a generation of single, unsatisfied and confused 30-something year old girls blaming their problems on "the patriarchy" when it is actually the fallacy of feminism that screwed up their path in life.

Well, granted this woman is pretty blatantly idiotic, (or just knows how to get likes from idiots), but I've never seen this argument before. It seems pretty fringe.

Now, that isn't to say that the fringe isn't being glorified by many of the more mainstream members, especially lately, but I do think that there is a great diversity among feminists as to what they think is important and for what reasons. As with any movement, there's really just a loose collection of fairly affiliated beliefs, as opposed to actual agreement.

We are beginning to see now the unraveling of the feminist "denial alliance" of everyone upset with the status quo. That is, now that they are coming into actual positions of power, they actually have to decide what would be fair instead of just noticing when somebody else's decision wasn't fair.

The (predictable) result is that extremists who say absurd things like "Biological sex is imaginary," who used to be universally applauded in solidarity, are now being recognized as the threat that they represent to others in the alliance if/because their radical ideas actually became law. If you haven't been following the J.K. Rowling Feminist Civil War, you should check it out. You'll find that some self-reflection and critical thought are undermining some doctrines among the more reasonable members of the feminist movement, and a major schism is developing between those who are trying to elevate Trans rights vs. those who are trying to elevate Women's rights. Because those necessarily conflict, now that they have real power, they are finding out that they've been competitors all along, and, one might hope, they will begin to see that others who they thought were their enemies are actually just another set of players in the same game with them. I mean, it's either that, or everyone not a feminist will start to realize that feminists have been gas lighting the MRA movement for quite some time. Once rhetoric runs up against the wall of reality, it starts to become very easy to convince people that what they imagined they understood fully was actually incomplete.

This OP is another good example of a schism forming as a result of feminists coming into real power. As more and more women are experiencing the dystopian society that earlier proponents of the movement called "liberation," they are starting down the path toward realizing that their ideology was flawed in the first place, and that the dissenting voices weren't simply idiots or naysayers. Although some will continue delusionally pointing fingers in every direction but their own no matter what reality throws at them, others are already recognizing that they were tricked -- but not by men. The pendulum has begun to swing.

Our responsibility will be to make sure we don't let it swing too far when it comes back our way.

When I was in college, I was required to take a literature course and we read the play "A Doll's House." The main character was a woman, and she forged her father's signature in order to get a loan. However, the bank manager found out and started blackmailing her.

The entire class felt bad for the woman because she was being blackmailed, but completely brushed over the fact that she forged her father's signature, which is a crime. The play took place in Norway in the 1800s, and a woman couldn't get a loan without her husband or father's signature. The class acted like this justified forging her father's signature, dispite the fact that forgery is a crime in every society which ever existed.

The modern equilivent of this would be an 18 year old forging their father's signature to get a credit card. Under the Credit CARD Act of 2009, a person under 21 cannot be issued a credit card without a co-signer unless they have independent income.

The logic of forging someone's signature because a person feels the law is unjust is the same both in this modern scenario and the scenario in the play, yet because the main character in the play was a woman, people acted like she did nothing wrong.
