The great thing about Netflix, is they know exactly how much they make off each program. ie: How many people watched it? So if they make a 1 hour show with Chris Rock and another with Amy Schumer, then if they both have the same number of viewers, then fine, pay them both the same.

Equal pay for Equal work is awesome, and elimination of wage disparities based on sex discrimination is a good thing.

But

According to the racial pay gap, the earnings rankings are in this order

1. White Women ( 17 h/r Average Hourly Earnings :Pew Research 2015)
2. Black Men ( 15 h/r Average Hourly Earnings :Pew Research 2015)

So Amy Schumer (white woman) just used an oppressed minority (black men ) who earn less on average to allegedly raise her wages.

I doubt this story will make big news, as it kind of paints a funky picture when further analyzed.

Why is this here? She's allowed to ask for anything, and nothing about this picture says she's using some feminist bullshit, the victim card, or anything to try and justify(force) it. I even went and read the two paragraph story here and it doesn't say she did anything but renegotiate.

When I get a new job, I do research. I see what other people who do this same job get paid. I try to get multiple competing offers. I use my experience and previous salaries as leverage. And the culmination of this research is to bargain with my new employer about my salary.

Is it possible that's what's happening here?

Male or female aside...Amy Schumer is not Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle. Hell, Chris Rock isn't Dave Chappelle no offense to Chris.

Ethically speaking...Amy shouldn't be allowed a pay raise not because she's a woman but because half her act is a poorly copied version of Dave's.

Those two are veterans of the stage who have endlessly good material, and lately, are even showing up with great social commentary.

She's mediocre lately, inexperienced, and might well be running out of material.

She should move over to films and branch out some for different roles, I think. Otherwise her career looks stagnant at the moment.

To me it isn't even a matter of if they are funny or not. Never watched her but from what I got she seems to solely rely on puerile humor, which get boring quickly.

I don't mind Amy, some of her stuff is funny. But her "leather special" was pure cringe. The outfit was god awful and it was like she watched the episode of South Park where they talk about female comedians being funny and said "yes, let's do everything they said" as though she didn't get it.

I actually used to like Any Schumer. I thought some of her early specials were pretty good. And I liked her movie Trainwreck, even though it fell into some standard cliche romantic comedy stuff.

But she has been over exposed, and she hasn't adapted to the level of fame her movie generated for her. Her latest Netflix special was incredibly bad.

To give an example - in one of her earlier specials, she talks about her body type and states "if we were making a cheerleader pyramid, I would be a base" which is a funny analogy. "My vagina smells like a goat" is not a clever analogy.

She has become a caricature of a hacky female comic. It sucks that people point to her as a standard bearer for women comics generally.
