The victor was born female and is transitioning to become a boy. They are jacked up on Testosterone, so it shouldn't be a surprise they are winning, against girls.

However, this individual is going to get destroyed when they start wrestling on the boy's side.

it's ironic that this rule was intended to keep biological boys from competing against girls, but now is requiring a biological girl using performance enhancing drugs to wrestle against other girls who are prohibited from using those drugs.

So, what do we do when trans rights are at odds with other peoples rights? It's not a simple issue.

I think it's plainly ridiculous that a female competitor should be allowed to use what amounts to a powerful performance enhancer while competing. It is textbook unfairness.

I hardly think this is a Men's Rights issue, but it's still something worth discussing.

I don't think this is a fair competition. It's not fair to allow MtF's to compete in female competitions nor is it fair to allow FtM's in female competitions. The former because men are simply usually biologically stronger. The latter because of the hormone therapy.

I fully admit and am understanding to the unfairness this puts on the transitioning individuals. They just want to play in sports. I get it, sports are fun. Competitions are fun. But if it's to be fun for everyone it needs to be fair for everyone. And while it might not seem to be a big deal, wrestling victories can lead to scholarships, to professional opportunities, to better chances at getting into universities. It's not fair to take those chances from the women in this scenario who aren't taking hormones. It's not fair that they are at such a huge disadvantage because they are not taking testosterone.

I feel for the kid, I really do. It's not an easy spot to be in. But if the rolls were reversed I'd still say the same thing. I wouldn't want to compete with an unfair advantage either. And sadly I don't think there is an easy 'everybody's happy' solution to this problem. Not that I can think of anyway.

The only idea I have is to not allow the Trans person here to compete at like, school events and competitions of consequences, but see if there are MMA schools in the area or something. Hell, let (him? her? I think him since it's ftm right?) train with the team still. Why not. That way they could still 'be on the team' but it wouldn't be unfair to everyone else, and they could still do MMA or wrestling style competitions outside of the school. But I fully admit it's not a good solution. Again, I don't think there are easy answers here.

If Title IX says that girls have to be allowed to compete on boy's teams, I see nothing wrong with it applying the other way around, too.

I think trans athletes for strength sports are going to be a difficult one to try and integrate for a while probably. FTM is doable but MTF is going to be harder.
