Best thing to do, I've found, is to intentionally misunderstand the topic and share in their mirth. I do this a lot with MGM when brought up, I pretend that I thought we were talking about women getting cut and how I agree with the arguments to religious autonomy, parents having the right to make that choice for their kids, how it's better for hygiene, how their sexual partners will thank them later, etc... Essentially, I act like I thought they were arguing for FGM, not MGM, and then argue that I agree with their arguments 100% and get them disgusted with me for having such barbaric, terrible views. That they originally put forward.

"Lol, really, a man raped a woman at gunpoint? Holy shit, that's awesome! Man power!"

"Uh... it was a man raped by a woman at gunpoint."

"Yeah, I know! A man raping a woman at gunpoint! Hilarious! I can't stop laughing!"

"You're fucking sick."

"Oh, STFU hypocrite, you're the one who laughed about it first, I'm just agreeing with you, rape is fucking funny!"

... So on and so forth until they start the "it's different" bullshit, then you just stubbornly insist that as long as they laugh at (real) male rape victimization, they have no high ground to stand upon criticizing you for laughing at (misinterpreted) female rape victimization. Insist that you are merely reflecting their own viewpoint, that hearing about certain people getting raped is mirthsome and celebratory, you just define which group is okay to laugh at a little bit differently than they do.

I think this is some form of extended argument to absurdity, but I've never been assed to look it up. Essentially, instead of arguing against their stance, adopt their stance, take it to a conclusion they didn't want it taken to, and force them to argue against it.
