I find this unusual request middle of a divorce from my ex-wife. She asked me to support her with a car payment plan instead of child support which I'm not planning to sign as co-sign for financial assistance. She said she filed for divorce in California in January, and it takes time to progress; I still haven't got served. Also, I haven't got any court documents such as child support and assets. I planned to give her child support voluntarily if I ever get served and try to avoid getting sued by the state just in case my ex-wife applies for a food stamp.
Since she asked me for assistance in getting her a new car with the payment plan, I'm worried the loan(s) would come after me when she cannot make a payment plan in the future. She has been spending compulsively; I have no idea how many credit cards, personal loans, or other debts she has since my credit score doesn't show me any loans that I'm legally married to her. I have no loan under my name and clean credit scores.
