For those that are divorcing in equitable states for reasons other than at fault infidelity, has anyone been able to get a percentage in favor of the male? If so, how?

Live in California. Divorced December 2022 (married for 12). 3 kids under 10. Owned a house worth 1.4 mil

My income: $150k Her income: $220k + 2 mil in company equity that had just been paid out which she was fighting me on being a marital asset due to a technicality (she was wrong)

Both wanted to keep the courts out. I walked away with 33% value of all assets in cash. No alimony and no child support. She kept the house. We coparent but kids only stay overnight at my place 8 days a month but I see them anytime I want. I deal for me and my freedom.

She pays for all their things (e.g. daughter’s dance stuff is like $2k a month childcare $1.2k a month, summer camps, other sports…everything).

I could have fought for 50% but my biggest goal was starting over without any reoccurring payments to her. I knew I could start a new life and be successful with the cash I took with me and so far, so good! And since she values money more than almost anything in the word, she felt like she won so post divorce interaction and coparenting has been really smooth, which is what I wanted for the kiddos.

Point is, the initial percentage was obviously in her favor but with no monthly debt to her over then next 14 years (youngest was 4), felt like a win to me!

if you have and earn more then they actually might be inclined to give her more than 50/50.

the saying is true: A woman sees 50/50 as a defeat.

If you can get 50/50 split without alimony take it and run. You will build back the lost ten percent. The alimony will suck the life out of you.

Exwife was a chronically unemployable pill popper for the last half of our 11 year marriage.

I divorced her. She got $0 alimony. I got 50/50 custody of the 2 kids. Minimal CS. I kept my house and my car. She got half of my 401k.

Don't look for emotional justice in the courtroom. By law, it doesn't matter who contributed what. You're each going to get half. Do the cost benefit analysis: Trying to fight that is going to cost you more legal fees and your sanity. Six years of asset accumulation is nothing in the grand scheme of things, especially how young you are. If she's ready to agree to fifty-fifty, then get the deal done so you can move on faster.

I am in an equitable state and it’s going to be 50/50 anyway. It’s bullshit but that’s how it will be decided anyway. You might have to worry about alimony but because it was 6 years you might be able to escape that. Take the 50/50 and run.

Take the 50/50. If it goes to trial that’s how it will settle anyway.

There is nothing illegal about cheating on your spouse or being a bad person. You’re in a lawsuit, they will follow the law. play with the cards you’ve been dealt and take the 50/50. Sorry man, it is what it is.
