As a Christian who's currently going through a divorce I was just checking in with other believers that may be here to see how their faith has helped them through this.

how's your faith helped you?

in my circumstance I'm starting to see that, even though I was extremely grieved over the separation and pending divorce... and still am somewhat..... and obviously God did not endorse or approve of her decision to leave..... sometimes it feels like he is using it to better my life in a lot of ways.

I've lost 80 lbs and my relationships with a bunch of other people in my family are much better.

Somebody told me that sometimes if there is a person that will hinder you from doing what God's will is in your life then he will cut them out.

Do you think that's true?

Obviously, my first preference was to try to keep the marriage together.

when she first left all I did was ask him for reconciliation.

But I feel very strongly that he has told me no.

has anyone else had a similar experience?

I mean, it flies in the face of what I thought I knew.

I've always believed that God hates divorce, and I still believe that. But I'm starting to think that if one person leaves and is not willing to reconcile that obviously he won't force them to do so...
