So I matched with a guy on Hinge. Before I could make a decision if I wanted to meet up or not, I got covid. I was very honest with him and told him I was too sick to text. Which btw, covid is horrible. I’ve never been so sick in my life. I’m living in another country where the vaccine rollout has been very slow. I wish covid on no one.

I was upfront and told the guy I was too sick and dizzy to text (which was true) and that I would let him know when I felt better. Less 48 hours later, I get the same “hey how are you” text. I was sick and frankly, annoyed he was texting me. I reminded him again, that I was horribly sick and I couldn’t text. He was not the only one I said that to. I only left my phone on in case I needed to call the hospital. I got another text a few days later, “hey I know you told me not to text you but I was just checking in.”

I appreciate him checking in on me but on the other hand, I’ve been terribly sick. Im just now feeling better but I’m still in quarantine. I am not sure what has annoyed me so much but I feel like I set appropriate boundaries and told him I would reach out to him when I felt better. I shouldn’t have to continual explain myself and the fact I have covid. I had to ask him not once but twice to not text that I would get into contact with him.

Part of me thinks maybe I’m overreacting but I feel like he’s broken simple boundaries. Thoughts?
