She makes great points in a lot of her videos. I can see why some of us are heckled at the 'bimbo as empowerment' idea though, and I don't mean to attack her expression when I say that.

The bimbo culture puts focus on unapologetic hyper-femininity for women, gay men, and nonbinary people, which i love. Like that clip from Legally Blonde someone posted earlier, the stereotype that hyper-femininity equals vapidity is harmful.

We'd be stupid to ignore, however, the cultural narrative at hand that tells women that to "reclaim" their sexuality means to pander to male sexual benefit. I too used to think that being sexually free and showing my body unapologetically would demonstrate to men my cultural defiance, that I would be able to show them what a fearless woman looks like. Nope, I was just another object for them to consume with their eyes, and certainly I certainly didn't have a transformative effect on their porn-fried brains.

I notice the Playboy motif in a lot of these videos on Bimbo Tiktok. We really can't underestimate the power of the symbol here. So while she has some good shit to say about men, the patriarchy, etc, it doesn't add up to completely go along with the image that feeds men exactly what they want. We'd be foolish to assume that men go to her TikTok to get educated.

It's the same narrative that tells teenagers how "empowering" it will be to sell porn of themselves, and how "empowering" it will be to find their sugar daddy. The "scam old rich men out of their money" thing doesn't sit well with me either, don't get me wrong I love to see an old rich man separated from his money, but when women are the product, it will always be a loss for us.

This also reminds me a bit of that episode of 30 Rock when Liz was at odds with the guest writer/comedian who had the baby-voiced bimbo persona. It is really interesting the way self-proclaimed feminists gatekeep women who don’t fit their approved aesthetic. Unless we all buzz our hair down, eschew basic hygiene, and wear burlap sacks, we’re performing a little bit for the patriarchy. Besides, there is no escaping the male gaze. They are obsessed with us, even (especially) when we aren’t interested in catering to them. Might as well wear what you want. I’m a single woman who lives alone, but I invest in lingerie. I like the way it looks and feels. Full stop.

I actually loved that she looks like this while saying this, because the reactions to her message exposes people’s inner monologue. She may be putting on a persona, but she’s 100% correct. Separate the wheat from the chaff.

Also...some women do vocal fry and some women do naturally sound like this.

Just from my own personal experience, I have never heard anyone say "boys will be boys" in relation to any type of physical/mental abuse. The only time I have EVER heard this saying was in relation to male children who were roughhousing with other male boys and someone got hurt or something.

So genuine question to my ladies here - have any of you honestly been told "boys will be boys" after a man physically assaulted you, even as a child? I'm just blown away at how I keep hearing this but I have never experienced it or witnessed it in real life so I'd honestly like to hear from others on it to hear their experiences with it.
