So, I’m educated, considered conventionally attractive (not a supermodel, but I have a pretty face, nice body, and I know how to dress well/do hair/makeup), and I have goals personally and career wise. I also try to have an active social life (excluding during quarantine) and I have my own interests and hobbies. I’m 23, so I’m young, but I spent most of my college years working on myself and only dating very casually. I will still grow more as a person, with time, but I think I’ve done a very good job of being a high value woman.

Because of this, I do have really high standards. I will cut a guy off if he’s disrespectful or makes me uncomfortable. I won’t pretend to be attracted to someone if I’m not. And I want someone who has at least a few mutual interests, as well as someone who has their own goals and wants to better themselves.

Most of the time, I find that guys my own age or younger are too immature, and when guys are older than me, like pushing 30- I get skeptical why women their own age won’t date them.

Are most guys honestly LVMs? Or am I right to be super selective? A lot of my friends in my age group are in relationships, and I’d say most of their boyfriends are decent- but I wouldn’t date them.

I don’t mind being single, and I absolutely don’t want to settle. But I catch myself when I’m on dating apps and even when I’m in public and see guys who would be the right age for my dating pool, it’s very easy for me to make a snap judgment and decide I’m not interested in them. It’s not like I NEVER see guys I’m into, but I sometimes wonder if my expectations aren’t realistic, or if that’s what LVMs want us all to think so they don’t all die alone.

Thoughts?
