Saw on my facebook today a woman praising her fiance for making her food after she had been at work all day without eating....... only to later say that she had actually made the sauce to go with it. Ridiculous. If we're going to keep praising men for the bare minimum they're never going to make proper effort.

I remember being jealous of small things like this, other women getting some kinda gift from their partner. I realized it’s because my ex didn’t think about the things I’d want and go out of his way to make me happy. It’s not even the fact that it’s only a $7 plant, it’s that he considered her. Low standards, yep. That’s why he’s an ex.

Small little gifts like plants can be very nice, but I agree the standards are low to nonexistent. Met a small business owner recently whose husband did purchase and renovate an entire historical mansion & property for her. Now that’s relationship goals.
