It's the weaselly, undermining "if you say so". I hate it. What I hate about it is, and what I say to them is, there is no "if". This isn't in question. I just said this clearly. That pushes back HARD against any if, or subjective, subjunctive use of MY words.

Just today I was chatting online with a guy, and he brought up God and religion. I know from religion, having been brought up in the Deep South, raised Baptist, converted to the far more egalitarian, less hellfire-and-damnation Episcopalian branch in my early 20s. But for years and years, I was very much OUT of the church. Refused to be shamed, refused to go along with any part of evangelical fundie-ism.

I'm convinced guys bring up religion to see how subservient/submissive you are, and that's a scrote strategy for trying to trap a woman by using all the "shoulds" and "should nots" of religion. Absolutely will not work with me. I question everything and everyone, and am open about it. I feel zero "duty" to do anything that doesn't suit me first, and isn't in my best interest first, especially like marrying a third time, or ever having a child. I don't owe anyone any action.

Anyone else ever noticed this? Any other words men use to undermine? Let's vet, queens!
