I find the choice of the meme to be very interesting. I’d like to shortly describe the story behind it, because I, honestly, never were finding this meme funny. The woman on the left picture, Taylor Armstrong was telling her friends about her experience with domestic violence and abuse by her late ex-husband. This were happening during an episode of The Real Housewifes of Beverly Hills show. Another “Housewives” cast member, Camille Grammer, was filmed gossiping with other people about Armstrong’s past, which made Armstrong worry about how her current husband would react. After the other cast members kept trying to minimize Armstrong’s feelings about the gossip with Grammer, it sparked a major fight. The resulting fight led to the image now famous in the Woman Yelling at a Cat meme. I’d bet $50 that this meme were made by a man, as part of their support of the lie they created- that women are hysterical and scandalous. This woman is clearly in fear and pain and I sympathize her and she is a victim, not an abuser.

I love how he just cuts right through the bullshit. He indulges NONE of these abusive men’s excuses. He also debunks the ever-popular myth that women are just as dangerously abusive as men.

Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft and The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker are both amazing books. Any women here who haven't read them, please do. They may genuinely save your life or the life of a woman you love.

I just bought a kindle copy of WDHDT a couple of days ago to re-read, and it was two dollars.

Salty men have written sooo many butthurt reviews on this book saying that it's bullshit. They cry about it saying that Lundy thinks all men are abusers. Meanwhile some of women's reviews say the book literally saved their life. You can tell that some men used one or two abusive tactics, read the book and started doing mental gymnastics to not confront reality.

Imagine thinking you know more than someone with years of experience, study and direct contact with abusive men. Imagine how bad it has to be that even a man says abusive men are rampant.

I recommended Lundy's book to some people on the Delphi Murders sub. Along comes some idiot saying no thanks and that Lundy is transphobic and doesn't believe men can get abused. Bear in mind it was women recommending books about our safety, like De Becker's Gift Of Fear.

I have read his book twice. And even when I've been very very privileged in that I have not been in an abusive relationship it was so eye opening. I could pin several of my friend's and relative's boyfriends and husbands on the kinds of abusive men described. It should be mandatory for women and girls everywhere.
