(Random note. No-one has ever taken mental health seriously but everything I'm seeing now about focusing on mental health is about men. Never women).

The compliments only started rolling in for me once intensive effort was put into my aesthetic, figure and overall appearance. Ugly women are hardly thought of as women or even human at times.

My first ex-boyfriend used to get pissy when others complimented me. He wished for the same. He once met my parents with a build up of orange plaque on his teeth. No wonder I questioned my sexuality.

Who compliments us ? "Oi sexy!!" Shouted from a passing van is not a compliment. A man may compliment us when he's trying to slither into our sex lives, but if you reject him, his "compliments" soon turn into "well you're not all that anyway " at best. Usually they take it all back and end up throwing a couple insults such as "fat" in just to make themselves feel better.

Women compliment women. Women compliment eachother's hair nails, make-up, clothes, skin, personality , intellect...because no one else appreciates it really.

Men need to a) realise that they are not kings who have to do little more than sit on a throne and wait for their hands and feet to be kissed by a long line of loyal subjects. They need to actually do something worth complimenting. B) with their ego, most women see that a compliment is not in fact, what they need. C) they actually need to compliment eachother. The fact that they don't compliment eachother just shows that their "compliments" are just "magic words" they say to women to get laid. They'd think a dude complimenting them is gay. They don't understand what a compliment even is and yet they cry themselves to sleep after posting a sob story online about how they never get any and it's supposedly our fault. Dude, grow tf up.

The dating advice subreddit is full of LVM like this. They believe they are entitled to a woman’s company and compliments just because they have a pulse....

You know the same scrotes complaining don’t work out, don’t dress well, have no skincare routine, don’t see a barber on a regular (and don’t get me started on the lack of confidence because they have no useful hobbies, friendships or career trajectory)

I went to a ju jitsu competition, not one ugly guy. Even the bald ones were attractive, literally all a man has to do to look good is going to the gym. They have really easy. Even their faces get attractive by working out.

It's no use to fuckin help them, either. I had a friend who whined about not knowing what to wear, and another lady and I took the day off to take him shopping, get him coupons, all that. He looked pretty good when we were done (he had no idea what size he was and was wearing poorly fitted... pokemon... shirts... and cargo pants)!

He got tons of complements on his new attire, but gave it up after three months and went back to being gross. What a goddamn waste of time.

Dudes will be wearing the same block colour, loosely fitting, low quality, fast fashion t shirt and pants with a variant on a muted brown/grey/black/blue and spend their time playing fifa and looking at their phone and expect me to find details to worship.

Also, you give a dude a compliment to be nice and they get an ego and start saying shit like “she’s obsessed with me” to brag to his friends.

Nobody is owed attention and compliments, you’re not oppressed Dylan.

Ugh I hate this. In a lot of super woke feminist spaces we hear talk about the male gaze and how women don't have to look beautiful and blah blah. Which, I completely agree. We do not HAVE to, we don't owe men our beauty. But I like to! It makes me feel good about myself, not because I want the "male gaze" but simply because I like looking in the mirror more when I look put together, healthy and beautiful. I think instead of just trying to get women to not give a shit about their appearance like most men, we could also encourage men to care more. I love a well dressed, well groomed, physically fit man, who wouldn't? When I'm swiping on apps, so many guys are an automatic no for me because they look sloppy and unappealing.
