What in the fuck?!! If I had a choice and chose my husband while letting our child burn to death he'd probably (rightfully) leave me for it. Do these pickmes think this declaration makes their men look good? Yiiiikes. They think they're going to have some weird romantic soulmate bonding over their child's preventable death ashes? I say again: what the fuck?

I lived this. It was so shocking and beyond comprehension to me. This is the ultimate culmination of men who want mommies. When you DO mother their children, it makes them seethe with jealousy and resentment towards the child. In my case literal infants who relied on me to keep them alive.

Kids before fibs!!

Imagine reading this and it was written by your mom?! Ouch. My mom would never.
[–]FewButterscotch6FDS Newbie33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
My mom totally would, but at least lacks the audacity to admit it. She'd leave any of her kids to die in a fire to save a guy she went out with twice but would deny it went down like that all the way to her grave. Pickme's make me re-evaluate the morality of forced sterilization.

Same, my mother usually prioritised her emotionally abusive LVM of a husband who treated her like s*t over me who used to love her more than anything in the world (fortunately, not anymore). This is the epitome of being a LVW pickme. I wish such women just didn't procreate. Let them suffer with their LVMs it that's what they want, but why make an innocent child suffer too?
[–]Davina33FDS Apprentice4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. Why do they do it? Sometimes I just think it's entitlement and because they can, rather than what is best for the child. My mother loved and put my racist, violent alcoholic stepfather first always. She told me I ruined her life, yet she never said the same about my stepfather who raped and almost killed her when I was 11 years old. It breaks my heart when I read that similar things have happened to other women on this sub.

I am so sorry your mother put you through this. I am glad to hear you have chosen to protect yourself from her, and any further emotional damage. It is so hard to stop loving someone who is low in value, but always the right choice. No matter who they are. Keep growing and glowing 👑

Thank you for your kind words! <3

I am so sorry! But want to say that I am so proud of you for growing up to make different choices. My father is a LVM and I am proud to break that cycle. You are a queen, and if you decide to have children, you will treat them the right way! With love! And even if you don’t, you will support and love the people you choose to have in your life, the right way!

Same, I'm like a walking disaster when in public cause I attract safety accidents on top of having a shit health. My mom is scary as fuck when she's angry and worried for me, my dad be damned lol.
[–]Cautionary_LegendFDS Newbie37 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nope. I'd want the child to live. I would save my baby by myself. An adult human can go.

Any adult with sense knows they cannot be number one in someone's life the entire time. Run from any man who "wants to be the priority" at all times.
[–]plummyjellyfishFDS Newbie14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Once you have a child, you become responsible for that child. No matter the cost, no matter the effort. This is one of the many reasons why I am childfree, because I'm not capable of that level of sacrifice. My father was a deadbeat, and my mother wasn't too keen on parenthood either, and it hurt me tremendously growing up. I would never put a child through the same kind of torment, and it sickens me how many children are being brought up by parents who have no real sense of responsibility towards their offspring. They aren't parents. They're simply breeders.
[–]Davina33FDS Apprentice2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hear hear. Same for me. The way I put it, is they are mothers and mums/moms. My mother used to tell me she hated being called mother and that I should never do it. Well it's one thing giving birth to a child but quite another to love and raise said child to the best of your ability. The latter is a mum.
[–]lalalalaikaFDS Newbie24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is literally insane. Your child contains 50% of YOUR DNA. The father shares 0% DNA with you.
Save the child, you fucking psychos

These people clearly don’t have kids.
I’m not with my kid’s dad, but if we were together I’m pretty sure there’d be an unspoken rule that we’d both attempt to save our kid from a fire before we attempt to save one another 🤷♀️
[–]CassieGreen85FDS Apprentice32 points33 points34 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Nah, plenty of childfree women, like me, are goddamn appalled at this shit. We don't need to have kids to understand this is not acceptable.
That child didn't ask to be born, and it's not a thing that can just be "easily replaced." WTF she's talking about "making" another child as if they were a purse you can just replace by going to the store. It's fucked up.
[–]to_learn_to_flyFDS Newbie13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Exactly. Having a child doesn't automatically grow your moral spine, and being childfree doesn't mean a lack thereof.
[–]Davina33FDS Apprentice7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes! Not to mention many of us child free women, myself included, have been victims of appalling mothers just like in the post. We are capable of empathy, you don't need to be a mother to be empathetic.
[–]LevelTurbulentFDS Newbie11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
My husband and I even spoke it. If we had to choose we'd both 100% save our son. We were watching something and the topic came up and we both said absolutely, you save your child.
And it was funny because we were both apologetic about it like, "I love you but I would have to save him, and I'd want you to save him over me if you had to." We were in total agreement there.
I can't understand parents who wouldn't. It blows my mind that there are people who think like this. Christ though, I guess this explains the moms who let boyfriends hurt their children. That's depressing and awful.
[–]ScotsburdFDS Disciple6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
We actually had that discussion. Yup, he's toast 😊. He totally agreed, no brainer.

[–]newuser20202020FDS Newbie6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't even want kids, but I would 100 percent choose them over a spouse. Kids are innocent, beautiful and helpless little being.
WTF is this drivel???? Oh the irony of childless women contending with a stigma of being heartless???
[–]phobi_wankenobiPickmeisha™️12 points13 points14 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That definitely feels like sarcasm tho.
[–]vmuzondiFDS Apprentice10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
It’s a joke. Someone said this years ago on twitter seriously and they’ve been getting roasted since. There were hoards of pickmes defending her though.
[–]CassieGreen85FDS Apprentice13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yeah the problem is that while for some it's a joke, for TOO MANY it's really, really not.
Just the fact that so many women "hate" their daughters (even very young aged ones) for "seducing" their man (father or step-father) is absolutely appalling.
[–]vmuzondiFDS Apprentice4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah that day on Twitter I realized how many women shouldn’t be mothers. They literally put their selfish, LVM husbands before their children because they’re sOulMaTeS.
[–]to_learn_to_flyFDS Newbie4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nah, sis. You can have another man. When a baby is born, he or she becomes your top priority. If you prioritise a grown man, who can and should take care of himself, yourself and the baby, over a baby whose survival depends on you, then you should definitely reevaluate your life.
[–]r00tangFDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh my godddd.
[–]shedragonessFDS Newbie3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In the case described on the reply, the kids must definitely needs to be saved because the other parent can (more often than not) save themselves. That’s an example where the kid is priority.
However...
“It’s time to “Ferberize” and move Junior to a different bedroom, in lieu of room sharing, once and for all.” This where the spouse should come first.
[–]BasieSkanksRuthless Strategist2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This seems like an outlandish view, but it’s clear that so many choose their spouse over their kids. By choosing to procreate with a low value man. By constantly making excuses for the low value man’s lack of effort towards his kids and trying to laugh it off, as is the case in a certain mom subreddit. Children, especially when they’re very young, cannot defend them self against an adult. Even animals understand this. Lionesses and kangaroos are extremely protective of their young.

I genuinely have no words
[–]rinabeanFDS Disciple2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I don't see any problem with this if that's how she wants to live.
People are talking about if it was a woman? Well, yeah, you know it might be? Statistically, it's way more likely. You know it might be you or your foetus when you're giving birth, and they might ask your husband to choose? If you want a man to murder you because he thinks it's his right, or nature, or whatever, just write letters to a wife murderer in prison, don't bother with FDS.
Then relax and remember most people never have to choose between their spouse and their child in a fire and even if they did there's no betting they'd do what they thought they would in cold blood. Really doesn't matter.
This is nothing to do with eg letting a man abuse your kids. Which actually happens every day. Or not getting an abortion you should have gotten.
[–]Milobear27FDS Newbie2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
There are other ways to pick a man over your child, a fire is just an example, so yes it does matter. Example starving a kid while the man is as big as a house, just think of all the cases like this in the news.
Also when someone tells on themselves like this, believe them. Don’t make excuses or tell yourself stories to make yourself feel better. Accept reality.
[–]rinabeanFDS Disciple0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I mean I literally gave an example of the real ways women pick men over their children. Your eyes had to travel past it to get to the reply button. But that's not choosing one life over another. That's choosing having a man over being a good mother. It's not the same, so no, it doesn't tell on them about that. It's nearly as ridiculous as someone saying what they'd do if aliens invaded - or someone judging them based on that. It's not reality in any way shape or form. People who aren't trained and prepared firefighters don't make any decisions in fires, but I guess it's comforting to imagine they do.
I do believe it when people tell on themselves. And claiming to be the ultimate mother is not something women on here are doing to appeal to their kids, is it? But we know men read here and it informs some women's behaviour quite markedly.
[–]Milobear27FDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That’s great that you gave examples. I gave an actual life and death one. I don’t see how it’s ridiculous as people are naturally afraid of their child dying, death does happen?
[–]Revy_Ur_EnginesFDS Newbie0 points1 point2 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
最高? More like 最愚蠢的 your spouse comes before the kids unless he’s doing fuck shit but in the event of a fire the man should sacrifice his life for his kids
