Eh, 54 and divorced isn't a big deal to me (he's in my target demographic) but putting the wrong age on a profile is an automatic report and block. Either you're a lying sack of shit who's already blasting through women's explicitly set boundaries (age parameters), you're careless and punched in the wrong birthdate when setting up your profile (and will be careless with other things in your life), or you're too fucking stupid to function in society. I wouldn't even read past that.

When I met my now-husband on an app, he only had positive things in his profile. No mention of past relationships or failures. Nothing that would cause the reader to have to read between the lines.

The man you posted is ALL red flags if you're looking for a long term relationship. He's telling the reader not to expect much from him. Then again, maybe he'll attract a woman who isn't looking for much. We all want different things from online dating.

I feel like it's a red flag when men nonchalantly say upfront that they have been dating around for years, and the women were all great nice women, but nothing worked out. I wouldn't listen to a man trash talk his exes, but I also don't trust a man who is too glib, because he probably never invested anything in any of his previous relationships.

I don’t think the 21 year old son living at home is a bad thing….I see that as more of a green flag than a red flag. A lot of men mistakenly think that parenting ends when the child is 18 or when they don’t have to pay child support anymore. But when you’re a parent you’re a parent for life. I like that he didn’t kick his son out to live alone and appeal to women more by having his own place. The money the son is saving on rent can be used to pay for school, save up for a down payment or something else practical. That was the only respectable piece of information on this profile.

My parents were fine with me living at home and saving money until I was 27. They preferred it because I didn’t have any one who would make a good roommate (close enough to my work) and I didn’t feel comfortable living alone (they didn’t want me to either because it’s unsafe). I didn’t feel like a burden because my parents genuinely like my company (and I like theirs) and I have a sister that’s like 8 years younger than me and another that is about 12 years younger than me
