Because women and relationships with us are disposable to them. If you buy a fork you have to clean it, not misplace it, give it a space to live in.
It's much easier to get a plastic fork that he can discard when he's done with it. That's how they see relationships with us and they tell on themselves.

My ex literally wanted to remain roommates and have me work with him after we broke up. Before him, I never believed in staying in contact with exes, period. Anyways, he continued to reap the benefits of a relationship as we remained friends. Later on as he started talking to girls online, he would talk shit about me and make me look like the crazy ex who would not let go. He then would tell me I act like he is my boyfriend. One time I tried to distance myself and didn't respond to his messages for a few hours and he said I am not a true friend if I dont share everything with him. It's always their way until they change their mind.

Sounds like my ex-husband who basically wanted to keep seeing this girl while being married to me and when I said no and filed for divorce, he said he wanted us to stay "friends" while he was starting to date the other girl. Lol, if you can't have me as a wife and her as a "friend", what makes you think I want to be your "friend" while she's your gf??? Delusional.
[–]ciceriiFDS Newbie63 points64 points65 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
He would tell me, "Maybe we will date other people for a couple years, and then get back together and get married." Literally used to joke I was his Plan B and an option. When we broke up, he tried staying friends with me after he got in another relationship and gaslighted that women into thinking she is insecure when she didn't like it. I felt bad for her but I know she probably has a very low opinion of me based on what he told her. And all the girls he has been in relationships with have a parents who abandoned them or was absent for the bulk of their childhood, including me. He will simp over strong women who wouldn't look at him twice but gets in relationships with women he can exploit.

Yup. Still sounds like my ex. He didn't like me standing up to him and saying no to whatever he wanted to do, especially if that something hurt me, then he would just do it anyway all while telling me he loves me. 🤡 That girl he wanted to start dating? She's 10 years younger than him and he has no business exploiting someone that young. 🤡 He also tried to keep me as a Plan B; said if we're both single when we're 50+ maybe we could give it another try. 🤡

As far as I'm concerned, he is dead to me the minute our divorce goes through. I'm gonna be a widow y'all. Come celebrate with me when it's all over with. I bought champagne and a tiara for the occasion.

The audacity they have just never ceases to amaze me for some reason. This is why I try and be strong with my boundaries from the get go now, even if others say I’m being too harsh. I found that the things my father was asking my mother he could do after years of abusing her, it was just like she was an appliance with no soul or needs of her own. He’s still like that and they’ve split up!
Not to say you weren’t firm with your boundaries by the way, that was just an addition to what I’ve been thinking lately. That some people start boundary pushing and test you so early on, and then it ends with them just using and abusing you. Which they will do to anyone they can get away with it with. I’m too much of the “nice girl” always afraid to upset or hurt someone, and it’s gotten me nowhere.
Proud of you for divorcing him and I’ll be there for the celebrations! Haha love the tiara idea too. How awesome.

Lord, I've had so many deadbeat dipshit exes who "wanted to stay friends" after they blew up the relationship with abuse or cheating.
Like no thanks, Satan. Friends don't treat me the way you did.

Sounds like my ex. He refuses to extricate himself from his ex wife. They have no children together. Some day he will wise up, maybe, but I wasn't about to wait around for that nonsense.

I often just think men do selfish things because they're a little stupid - they don't play the long game in investing into their own happiness by fostering genuinely positive relationships.
But what you described looks intentionally malicious to me. It looks like he was try to intentional control and manipulate to try to make you crazy - literally everything you did he labeled wrong and he framed your interactions with him with no possible way for you to be at peace. That's pretty vile.
[–]RiasXgremoryXFDS Apprentice165 points166 points167 points 5 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
As usual men wanting "wifey things" from women while they continue to act single and contribute absolutely nothing.
This is just as ridiculous as those "girlfriend tests" that men like to pull on women they're dating to see if she's wife (aka good slave) material.
[–]Inspection-CriticalFDS Apprentice94 points95 points96 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Even the "girlfriend" label means nothing to LVM. Men will say they're exclusive with women they don't see a long-term future with, but they'll stay with her anyway while they can get sex, emotional labor, money, or whatever, then dump her down the road. The worst ones will try to rewrite history and say "we were never in a relationship so I don't know what you're talking about."

🤦🏾So true smh Little did my pickmeisha self know. The whole time he told me what i wanted to hear while stringing me along for emotional labor and ego boosts. That dusty was buying time all along while wasting mines. This is why a title don't mean s*** to me at this point.

Mine too and hard same. He kept me on the hook for months after breaking up, saying that he didn't want a relationship...but he still wanted to see me, and go out places and take me to dinner and be physically intimate...and then got really angry with me for wanting to "ruin everything" when I got upset by this.

The only good reason for marriage is because you have a piece of paper that holds the man financially accountable for his parasitism. Even at that, accountability is not guaranteed. Playing house with no piece of paper to show for it is definitely a no.
[–]justforfdsFDS Newbie22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I so agree. Parasites they are. Sucking the life force of their 'host' to the point of an earlier death.

The other day I was chatting with a guy on Tinder and as I asked him what he was looking for he said the exact above. Something along the line of “spend a good time together and have amazing sex, but with no pressure to commit” so basically an fwb where only he gets the benefits. So I called him out on it. I said that men don’t make any sense and that he’s literally looking for a relationship but doesn’t have the guts to put a label on it. He directly insulted me, called me a prude and made a racist comment about how women like me are the reason why men from my culture are so repressed(I have arab roots). When they can’t get you they insult you. Fragile egos know no better.
[–]TexiMcCraeFDS Newbie73 points74 points75 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Arab MEN are oppressed?! Are you kidding me??
[–]Less-PanicFDS Newbie25 points26 points27 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ya cuz apparently committing to a woman and her entire family, putting on a serious label (marriage), and giving her proper rights (taking responsiblity to feed, clothe, and shelter her) before having sex with her is opressive to Arab men... hmm... I wonder who created the marriage construct in the first place... I guess we'll never know. /s

I reported him and unmatched when he started acting like a douche. You’re right, I should’ve done it sooner, but I thought maybe making a point would change the way he acts or talks to women. Was a bit naive of me, I admit.

The “with you” is silent. You’re simply a placeholder until they find a woman they actually want.
[–]catchaleafFDS Newbie10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I hate when people say the “with you” part most men end up settling. They don’t know wtf they want at all. They have fomo and are guided by that.

and when they get an actual girlfriend, you're not allowed to be upset because "it wasn't a relationship I told you from the beginning, psycho" .... um, I'd be upset if a platonic friend dumped me for someone better too, so...

Further proof that they don't know what the word "friend" means
