This takes a lot of work and self-love. I always considered myself someone with a decent self-esteem. However, as I continue to reflect on my past relationship & everything I let myself be put through, it can hardly be said so (I am trying not to bash myself for it, only learn).

I was naively hopeful, projecting my values and virtues onto someone who was not good for me — all because we shared the same views on family, cultural backgrounds, career growth, etc.

Internalize your strengths, intelligence, virtues, how good your heart is and make sure you guard all of that.

Why do we hold celebrities up to the expectation of being role models... it’s so weird to me. Especially when the women in this industry get put through soooo much toxicity and manipulation from such a young age, I mean she was a literal child when she was introduced to fame. No shit she’s coped in unhealthy ways.

Anyway, I’m glad she’s doing better and learning to value herself as a woman. That amazing. People need to place a whole lot more value on their empathetic, unconditionally loving hearts. That’s what’s truly rare in this world. Not conventional beauty or narcissism. This is a great message and I’m glad she’s spreading it.

I love Selena. I was so sad when she was being dragged for her issues with alcohol. It’s easy to fall into that pit when you have all the money and fame at young age. She is awesome though and always appears to be a good hearted person from her interviews and overall image

I’m sorry but I can’t get down with Selena. I think her continued use of alcohol after her kidney transplant-and the fact that she defends it- is irresponsible and sends a dangerous message to young people who may be going through the same thing. She also spent a lot of years milking her on/off relationship with fuckboy-in-chief JB for publicity and a lot of her content is very “pick me” themed. (Remember “when you’re ready come and get it?” Naw, sis.)

She talks a good game in this clip and I really, really hope that she is coming to a point where she can be empowered in her career and her relationships. She is talented and deserves her success, and I don’t want it to sound like I mean to attack her fans on this sub because you ladies are amazing! But Selena is not someone that I think is a good role model.
