I often think of the girl from Claire’s who pierced my ears and the torrid love affair we had in the few minutes it took her to pierce my lobes and leave these permanent holes in my body as proof of our love.

I never knew her name but I think of her every time I see plastic jewelry or sparkly scrunchies. I’m ruined for all other relationships forever because of her and our love.

My boyfriend has a matching tattoo he got with his ex, and he dislikes it but has decided to leave it because it’s part of his life history. Do I complain that he must still love her because he won’t cover or remove the tattoo? Lol NO. I couldn’t care less. It really is just part of his past.

But men tend to have such an ownership complex with women’s bodies that they don’t even want us to modify our bodies with tattoos, hair cuts/dye, or piercings. My ex didn’t want me to get tats, which is one of the reasons I have them. If a man won’t date me because I have tattoos, or complains about them, I consider it a good indicator I dodged a bullet. Usually it’s red pill types who are that way, and I’m more than happy to avoid them.
