Okay. Fuck. Where to start.

I've been a gamer since I was a kid. I've always enjoyed it. My wife isn't, but doesn't mind me gaming.

I work out. I'm buff, I have a great job, but in the evenings when she's watching her shitty TV, I'll retreat to the man cave for some gaming.

This in itself is fine. I play with the kids, I don't neglect her, we always have us time. I know gamings place in my life and unless there's a new release, it's last on my priority list.

That said, (and the reason I'm here), is I feel that it's still looked upon as childish, as such she'll see me doing something on a game, or I'll talk excitedly about a new release and she'll say something like "You're such a nerd, lucky you have me, who else would have you!" ... to which I just flex and say something like "yeah, the other girlfriends don't mind".

However in a way, she's right. It's a waste of time, I mean I enjoy it, but I feel I should be doing something productive, but I can't do that all the time right? I mean, I work pretty hard, I fix things around the house, I work out, I clean, help the kids with their homework (at which she states she's unable to) surely I can have some time to distress without having to build a canoe in my garage to prove my manliness.
