Men go underappreciated in anything. Working fathers ARE a thing, they don't get appreciated at all. Our educational system is messed up and gives women extra privilege over men, and in terms of ratio, we see women get into universities at a higher rate than men. We also see how men are meant to be *strong and not emotional* while women can be emotional and be supported, or be strong and are said to be "an empowered woman".

Although this is a good post, the title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

Very serious . It’s nonsense. Women are 52% of the worlds population. If we wanted the power of men we would have it. Most of us are too busy looking after our families to be interested . Family responsibilities, speaking of which , this is an area of responsibility that many men need to get on track with after making a baby. I think it says something about the character of a sub when the top-voted post isn't one raising up a group they're supposed to support, but knocking down someone else as the enemy. Are you about supporting men or just shitting on women?

From my position, no one works harder to ensure the real and legitimate problems men face are laughed at and ignored as much as men's rights activists.

This post popped up on /r/all and I was curious what men’s rights meant. Just wow. As a male, this sub is embarrassing if this post is one of the most upvoted. It’s the antithesis of what you all supposedly stand for. The amount of “feminist” and sometimes women bashing occurring is just pathetic.

Yes there are shitty things that happen to men, but let’s not pretend like we haven’t been dealt a pretty good hand. Shitting on the other side will not bring any positivity toward the issues you champion. It just makes you look like a bunch of whiney boys.

It has become a subreddit where most posts are genuinely about whining and complaining on highly polarised, and somewhat extreme statements about “the feminazis”. It’s almost like the majority wants to be provoked and talk trash about it. Herd-mentality. Irony is - this is similar to what the opposing side is doing, which you also react badly to. Like this post!

Why not focus and highlight actual problems in a fair manner, where you try to find the best path where both men and women gets a fair treatment? See things from both sides instead of pushing an agenda?

What feminists want is for statements like this one to be meaningless. They want to abolish gender roles and stereotypes such that there is no “power of men,” nor any “privileges of women.” There would only be the power and privileges afforded to any individual, regardless of their sex.

In the end, abolition of all gender roles and stereotypes is incredibly beneficial to both men and women. If you aren’t sold on this fact, I can offer plenty of examples of gendered expectations that hurt both men and women.

If you aren’t sold on this being the goal of feminism, then I suggest you do what I would and declare yourself a feminist, while maintaining the goal of abolishing all gender roles and expectations. If you’re an outlier, then you’ll be in a perfect position to “fix” the “problem” of feminism. Chances are though, and ymmv, that you won’t be as much of an outlier as you may expect.
