I'm skeptical of the 'convicted' too because my ex came after me on false rape charges.

I'm very vocal about it because I would NEVER do anything like this and she totally betrayed me after I took VERY good care of her and her daughter a year after we broke up.

I paid for their expenses for a year and when I had to cut them off, she threatened me with SA lawsuit unless I continued giving her money.

She went completely ballistic and psycho. Like out of "fatal attraction".

She was crying, contacting my customers at my company and employees, etc.

My lawyer said to settle because if it went in front of a jury I would be found guilty.

Yup. Same crowd that's saying that "only 2-10% of rape allegations are false" (which, 10% is already alarmingly high) because it's the number proven without a shred of a doubt to be false, will in the same breath tell you that only 4% of rapists are condemned, not realizing the irony of it. Because what it means is that only 4% of rape cases are proven to be true without any single shred of doubt.

Why are we even looking that far? Look here in the developed world, where they hide that women are just as much rapists as men are. Men are just as much raped by women as women by men. The only thing that hides this stats is how rape by women and rape by men are reported in stats. All the sources at the end.

There is a measurable asymmetry in how gender research gets funded, framed, and publicized. Most of the major studies on sexual violence are designed to measure female victimization and male perpetration. Male victims and female perpetrators are systematically understudied. The CDC's own surveys classifies "made to penetrate" separately from "rape", which dramatically undercounts male victimization by women.

That's not a conspiracy theory, it's a documented methodological choice that researchers like Mary Koss advocated for and that others have criticized. The CDC's National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (NISVS) defines rape as penetration of the victim. Among men, rape includes oral or anal penetration by a male using his penis, and anal penetration by a male or female using their fingers or an object. Being "made to penetrate" is measured as a separate category, assessed among males only.

The bombshell finding: the NISVS 12-month prevalence estimates show that the number of women who have been raped (1,270,000) is nearly equivalent to the number of men who were "made to penetrate" (1,267,000). In other words, men and women assault just as much, however only female victims are recorded in the rape statistics. Basically identical numbers. But the CDC's own summary materials buried this.

In the first headline of the fact sheet, the CDC asserted "Women are disproportionally affected by sexual violence." The fact sheet's first bullet point stated "1.3 million women were raped during the year preceding the survey." Because of the prioritization of rape, the fact sheet failed to note that a similar number of men reported nonconsensual sex. E.g. in the case of an adult forcibly performing oral sex on an adolescent girl and on an adolescent boy, under the CDC's definitions the assault on the girl would be categorized as rape but the assault on the boy would not.

In the UK it's even worse. Their legal definition of rape is an intentional penetration of the vagina, anus, or mouth with a penis, without consent. This means that under UK law, only someone with a penis can commit rape as a principal offender. A woman who drugs a man and forces him inside her literally cannot be charged with rape under English law. It's a different, lesser charge by definition and won't even register in rape statistics. Btw. this isn't just in UK and US, it's in almost all countries.

The NCRB data (which you've supposedly drawn from) shows that less than 8 percent of rape cases under investigation in 2020 were found to be """false"""". A total of 38,947 rape cases were filed that year. This 3-8% rate is consistent across the years. Something very important you decided to essentially lie about is that this 8% slice includes mistakes of fact/law, insufficient evidence and acquittals / unresolved cases.

And why does it imply that since conviction rates are low, many accusations are therefore false? This clearly shows a bias. an Acquittal doesn't mean the accusation was a "malicious".

The vast majority are registered as genuine, not to mention how over 90% of total sexual assaults are estimated to go unreported in India. Not at all surprising for a country where there's deep shame, denial and misogyny surrounding the topic. I mean come on, this is a country that still doesn't legally recognize marital rape.

And important to mention how many "False" cases often include cases of broken promises to marry rather than malicious fabrication. This plays heavily into the domestic / sexual abuse clause since women are often advised to cite divorce claim on these grounds because the country has rather backwards laws concerning how to get a divorce.

I don't understand why it's been framed so disgustingly incorrect. The 5-8% of "unproven" is relevant on its own yet you framed it like this why? Or better yet why SO many people are actually falling for it.

This is omitting way too much data to be trustworthy. It counts only convictions and cases officially given a Final Report status -- i get that those are the most clear-cut categories, I get not counting things that never resolved, but without cases that went to trial and resulted in acquittal or "final report true" status ("the event happened but this person wasn't the one who did it") we are missing out on really necessary proportions. Lest we think this is attempting to skew the numbers against feminism, it also omits from its estimation cases that were quashed for being maliciously filed! That's where the thing we're talking about happens! (Its link also does a poor job of explaining the process or its prevalence.)

And then the data itself is nonsense once you compare "overall" to "metro cities." Because "metro cities" are less than 10% of the overall numbers (there are only 21 cases if attempted rape!) and that is 100% ass-backwards. Record-keeping, policing, and government in general is sparse at best and usually Godawful in rural India. 2/3rds of its population live in the major metropolitan areas listed there, the record-keeping is better in those areas, yet it accounts for less than 10% of the data?

The methodology you used really isn't very good, it looks like you've maneuvered it to paint victims in the worst possible light, especially given the absence of attention to the nature of underreporting.

Where did you come to the conclusion that "Cases ended as FR Non Cognizable" And "Cases ended as Final Report False" meant that they were "intentionally malicious"?

Cases ended as Final Report False is probably as close as you can get but it still doesn't prove malicious intent at a court level. This is a personal opinion, not an academic conclusion. It also sits around the 2-10% mark globally when we focus on official court documentation rather than weak police reports

(and Non Cognizable shouldn't even be in the confirmed malicious section, You seem to have missed what it means)

It's really odd you seemingly spent so much time on this with such obvious flaws and limitations. I'd swear clear of actual academia until you get a better grasp of it.

See how under a post about male victims many are still talking about female victims ending up not recognized? They are all concerned about men's right and they still skew towards women. The methodology of this is pretty fucked. It assumes that all the cases dropped by the police must be cases where rape did not happen, which makes the auther conclude that a reported rape after the police has dropped the case must be malicious. Conveniently this information can be found in the methodology section of the linked page.

If you say all estimations are "downright false" you're also saying the same for unreported female victim numbers of sexual violence in India.

The NFHS survey's estimate of approx 74% of sexual violence on women being unreported in India is also an estimate based on a sample population that only makes up <1% of female population of India in relevant age groups.

My estimates are far more accurate because:

The sample set (concluded cases) make up more than 20% when compared with reported numbers each year (target set for applying %). Larger sample proportion means more accurate.
Here, we are dealing with cases which have a similar procedure & etc, whereas Indian demographics is wildly diverse. The regularity boosts accuracy.

You've said that only 3-8% are false. The set of data you're taking that as a percentage of is all reported, concluded cases in that year, and pending cases from previous years combined. You assume that all pending and unconcluded cases are true. It's up to judges to declare buddy, not you.

And the last time I checked, around 14% of cases were false in 2022 for that specific set you're quoting (which is misleading to begin with). Not 3-8%. So refrain from spreading misinformation.

The way the data is presented make no sense, leaving out about two thirds of the cases. Also data from different cases is mixed as if they were the same; only about 25000 cases are tried per year but the backlog is nearly 200000 cases so outcomes of trials of cases that occurred years ago are compared with police investigations of cases in the current year. A more accurate representation of the rape data would be as follows:

True Cases

convicted 4464 (16%)

False Cases

reported falsely 3959 (14%)

Not Cases, Not Fake

reported accurately (but not a crime) 627 (2%)

Ambiguous Cases (not true beyond a reasonable doubt)

believed true by police but not tried ~3800 (14%)

acquitted 15213 (54%)

This is a similar rate of false reporting shown in the US data. Conviction rates as a proportion of all accusations are also about the same as in the US although more cases in the US get dropped before trial when prosecutors realize they have no chance. Indian prosecutors seem to drag it out to trial even in a losing cause. And as in the US, although a large proportion of cases seem plausible to investigators they cannot reach the level of beyond a reasonable doubt.

I don't want to undermine the devastating effects that false accusations have on men's lives, but are all these data for one year? About 50000 cases in country of 1,5 billion? This means that is a rare occurrence to be accused.

I’m sorry but presenting data like this is disingenuous to say the least, and makes us no better than feminists that claim shit like all men are rapists. These graphics show two sides, convicted and false. There is a HEFTY middle ground of cases that don’t go to trial for lack of evidence, and cases with evidence and one can even concede the event may have happened, but not beyond the standard required for conviction. Just because a conviction isn’t secured does not mean it was a false allegation. And just because someone was convicted doesn’t mean they’re not innocent. Innocent men are convicted all the time, or take plea deals to avoid the fear of harsher sentences. The way this data is presented makes no sense. Are those all the cases? And you saying it’s either true and convicted or a false accusation with no middle ground? Or is this cases that end in conviction and cases that were found to be false allegations after investigation and all the middle of the road cases were left out? If that happened pie charts make no sense when you can’t compare all the data.

Women lie about sexual assault way more than most are willing to admit, but even i wouldn’t claim above 50% are false accusations.
